The newest bios 6010 is better but reset to factory after you flash it.

ASUS did a horrible job on this one. Search the internet for AT5IONT freeze and you will have days of reading material. My board wont run for more than 24 hours before freezing up. Most of the time it wont run for more than 1 hour. No bluescreen of death, No entrys in the logs, No reason for anything, just frozen. Linux freezes, UBCD freezes, Windows XP freezes, Windows Server 2008 freezes, freenas freezes, THE BIOS SETTINGS SCREEN FREEZES. I've tried multiple types and sizes of ram with no change. Updated the bios 3 times with no change. The newest bios 6010 is better but reset to factory after you flash it. Ive tried no hard drive, 1 hard drive, 1 usb drive, 1 dvd drive, pcie sata card, and it still freezes. Tried different power supplies, still freezes. Monitored temperatures and guess what they are all under 90F and it still freezes.

I want to put this board on my clay pigeon launcher and get as many friends with 12 gauges go at it all at once.

Make sure you select memory that is compatible with the old version of the bios. The hardware compatibility list covers the new version of the bios, but to get the new version of the bios installed you need to have compatible memory installed. Motherboards with the old version of the bios are stil being shipped to customers.

I bought this to build a PC to connect to my TV. I thought I would run linux, but it turns out its pretty difficult to play blu-ray movies on linux so I had to purchase an OEM version of Windows... But I got a PC that does great at playing movies with the free software that came with the blu-ray player/DVD+-RW I bought to go with it. The system still runs cool even though the only fan is on the power supply.

I bought this mobo for a build of a new machine to cut my power bill. I've moved a lot services from a large system that runs 24x7 and draws about 200w to this. The tiny box running Linux draws 20w and is serving up DNS, music, email, a couple of small PHP web sites and provides a place to browse the web from without having to fire up a more powerful machine is great, and it seems to have cpu cycles to spare. I'm thinking about getting another one to provide streaming to my HT. That one would run Windows 7.
