- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2014I am a bookworm. I don't apologize for it, I've been a bookworm as long as I can remember. I am also, if you listen to my kids, something of a "Technophobe". Simply put, I don't like gadgets and I'm somewhat uncomfortable with all the electronic gizmos that have taken over our lives. Enter the Kindle. I got one for Christmas and after downloading and reading my first book, I was hooked. The only problem I had was that it was small for old hands (easily dropped), hard to prop up to read and, at least to my mind, somewhat fragile.
I looked for something to protect it and found the DuraGadget case and cover. Great! Something that covered all of my issues in one fell swoop! I received the cover, installed the Kindle by simply sliding it into the case (no bands or corner tabs to fight), and it worked without any interference at all. It serves as a protector, a reading prop, and adds enough bulk to make holding the Kindle easier for old hands without being too ungainly.
Constructed of a very fine grained leather over a stiff form it has a good feel. The leather hinged cover doubles as the base for the prop stand like a picture frame brace. It is wide enough to be stable without getting in the way and has a latch to hold it closed with two rare earth magnets. All of the Kindle controls are easily accessible and the unit can be charged and operated in the case either open or closed. Fit and finish are good, the stitching is fine and there are no rough edges anywhere. The Kindle is retained not by elastic bands but by a glove tight fit. If I have any gripes about the construction it would be that I think the leather cover hinges could be a bit more robust, but then I'm a belt AND suspenders kind of guy!
All in all, I haven't found anything I don't like about the cover and quite a lot that I do like. Who knew I could come to love one of those infernal e-lec-tronic devices!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2013I bought this mainly for the price, I admit it. I didn't know if it would work for me so I figured if it was cheap I wouldn't go wrong. And WOW, it works, it looks great it protects my Kindle and it doesn't take up too much space. Looks great too! Who knew I'd get the perfect Kindle holder for so little. I am so happy I didn't spend $39.99 on some other cover. This is a great product that looks good (very professional), works easily, and did I mention.. is cheap! Yeah.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2013This is my first case purchase so there is no comparison from personal experience, but the design appealed to me and the reviews were favorable. The Kindle fits perfectly with no obstructions to any buttons or ports on the sides or bottom of the Kindle. The stand supports the Kindle nicely on a tabletop although I have really only held the Kindle while reading. The cover easily folds backwards so that the magnetic flap can be tucked between the Kindle and the case. Nice design and soft feel to the casing.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2014i got this for protection for my kindle and because it stands ..well it stands at certain heights , but is hard to read and turn page have a hard time because it almost covers the side of the buttons to turn pages. .be careful when you go to turn unit on definitely don't turn kindle over to do so , i did when i first got it not realizing how loose it was and kindle flew right out from the push on the kindle to turn it on . i am on the hunt for one that fits more snugly .I would prefer an snuger fit so my kindle doesn't accidentally go answer when i have to just put in purse quickly . therefore the low score.:) i would not buy this product again , or recommend
- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2011I could swear that then I first bought this it said it was Kindle Fire compatible.
It's not.
Not sure if it was my mistake, but I am usually very, very careful to check stuff out before buying.
Great little gadget, but too small for my use.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2011This is a nice Kindle cover for the new generation. The Kindle fit perfectly, all buttons are exposed, the magnet close well and the multi angle stand function is really nice to read with the Kindle on the table and to do another stuff in the same time.
I didn't put five stars because it took 43 days to arrive in Brasil (normally it's 30 days) and because I ordered the black version and I received.....the brown!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2011I just received my Duragadget Black Leather Kindle cover this afternoon and it is great! I searched Amazon the other day to find a cover for the Kindle I received for Christmas and was surprised to see other covers costing upwards of $50 dollars or more. At first I wanted a light to also be attached, so as not to be limited as to where I could read. But upon seeing what the lighted covers cost and reading a few reviews of how older versions did not have great track records, I continued my search.
Somehow I stumbled upon this cover and it looked like a good deal. I read the reviews and one person claimed it was not made of leather. I don't know about theirs, but mine is leather and seems to be nicely stitched together. It should hold up well in protecting my Kindle in the day to day wear and tear and travel. There was one other person who claimed it had a funny smell, I think. But again, due to the fact that like the product title says, "Genuine Leather," mine smells like real leather. The texture and smell make it fell more expensive then what you pay. The Kindle, btw- I have the $79 basic version, fits snuggly in the case. It has a fold over cover that closes nicely with a magnet, and when opened folds seamlessly behind the Kindle and actually makes it easier to hold onto without being a distraction. The side page buttons are also easy to push.
Overall, I feel like this is worth more then the $25 dollars I paid for it. It should do the job nicely and I recommend to anyone looking for a cover for their Kindle.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2014I like the case and it does a great job of protecting the Kindle while giving a classier look and for the price it would be hard to find a better value.
It fits very well and the snap closure makes it easy to open and close.
A great value and a great looking case!

Sarah FitzReviewed in Canada on May 6, 20125.0 out of 5 stars Good quality for the money
Good quality product. Extremely easy to get the Kindle into it. I didn't think I would ever use the little stand, but it's very convenient. I wish it case in more colours, but that's not even that big a deal.
SussexMumOfTwoJMTReviewed in the United Kingdom on May 23, 20115.0 out of 5 stars Nice cover
Arrived this morning, really happy with cover I can see myself using the "stand" feature alot, especially when typing or writing out notes as I have emailed some of my revision syllabus as PDFs to my kindle account. Also, sad as it sound looking forward trying it out on the train tomorrow when I am planning to place it on the table and read away!
You can either use cover with the stand "handsfree" or fold the cover behind and the magnets hold the "front" bit in place magnetically to the back of the cover.. Buttons to my kindle are nice and easy to access and the material and stitching is of a good quality. Really like the magnets that hold the stand and cover in place as I was worried that they would flap around a lot.
The only downsides I can think off is that the "on/ off/ sleep" button can get caught on the bottom RHS strap if you have not positioned your kindle just right, but with a bit of repositioning this seems to resolvable. Also, I would have preferred it if the straps holding the front cover to the back were a little more robust, aaa they are a tad flimsy looking, but with the magnets holding it to the back cover it should hopefully last and stop this from becoming worn/ damaged.
All in all, very happy with this purchase and very glad I did not go for the "book" style covers that are also available.
Looks great and white too, can't wait to show it off!
Would recommend to anyone that wants a good quality cover and does not want to shell out for the official amazon ones!

Eduardo K.Reviewed in Spain on November 14, 20125.0 out of 5 stars Muy buena calidad.

Gabriele GalloneReviewed in Italy on January 7, 20135.0 out of 5 stars Funzionale e conveniente
