View larger Dual Brush Pens are Two Pens in One Dual Brush Pens feature a marker with a flexible, nylon brush tip and a fine tip all in one. The brush tip works like a paint brush to create fine, medium or broad strokes by a change in brush pressure. The fine tip draws consistent, smooth lines for borders, graphics and tight drawings. I suppose I should have guessed that a water-based ink would not be waterproof, but I'd hoped I could use these on a wider variety of projects. Do not use if you plan on using anything (paint, sealer, wax, polyurethane or clear coat - anything!) over it. It bleeds and smears like crazy!
Overall I'd highly recommend these for an art class or school. Definitely don't buy if you're looking for something to use with watercolor or other mixed-medium projects.

The brush itself feels very stiff when I use it, so it feels more like a normal marker rather than a BRUSH pen. It doesn't have that "flow" that other brushes have. I do like the variety of shades, but I don't see myself using these as often as I hoped I would. For now I'll stick to my copics.

The brush end is responsive and lets you knock things up very swiftly and the fine end is pleasantly firm for delicate work. You can blend them easily but if you keep the touch light you can lay down shading without disturbing existing lines. The lightest shade is fabulous for roughing out.
It's worth being aware that the greys are not all the same tone; one of the mid ones is blue-ish. I find that quite useful myself but it's good to know in advance.
