    Another fake, generic power supply

    Another fake, generic power supply
I purchased this from 'electrodisc' and 'Fulfilled by Amazon'. This is just some completely generic Made-in-China power supply that has absolutely nothing to do with D-Link. It is not 'by D-Link'. It does not have a D-Link part number on it. It is not made by Jentec (OEM supplier to D-Link). It doesn't look anything like the power supply by D-Link.How does Amazon or this seller think they can just sell this garbage as by D-Link and list the part number AF1805-A when it is not? Total waste of my time. The power supply I receive is so generic, it doesn't even have a brand on it. The part number listed is SS-WP-050250A. And, it is so big, it won't fit in a power strip like the original... which is correctly depicted in the product description image.Do I have the time to test and certify that this thing is compatible and won't fail in such a way that it will blow up my equipment? No. I paid a premium for this and received a junk, generic $2 power supply that I can buy anywhere. Not happy.Shame on Amazon for allowing this to happen over and over on their website.

I've been using power supply for a few months now on a DLink 624 wireless router and so far so good. The original adapter burned out after 7 years of 24/7 use. Good price and not a bad Chinese replacement.

I purchased this to replace a failed power adapter for my Hauppauge HD-PVR model 1212 - which has the same power input specs as older DLINK routers. The PSU supplied by Hauppauge is known for its short life and I had used it 24x7 for a few years before it failed. The new DLINK adapter works perfectly for this application. I am very happy to have fixed my problems for such a low price. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that the mains plug orientation takes up too much space on a power bar.

I just got mine today and it worked with the DP-301P+ that I have. The old one failed after 5-6 years and I could detect that the print server was fine using another power supply, but the power supply I tried didn't have enough amps to make the print server work. This device worked great and fit the plug just like the old one.

My home was hit with a bunch of electrical surges in my town and my power adapter to my DLink wireless router fried (even though everything else plugged into the power strip/protector worked fine). So I figured I'd just by a new adapter which I did from Amazon. The process and all was typical Amazon great quality and the product was delivered just fine. Unfortunately, when I plugged-in the new power adapter to my wireless router, the range of the router is now only about 10 feet and is line-of-sight only. Oh well. I guess the DLink wireless router was fried. So I ran out to Walmart and purchased a cheapo $50 Linksys/Cisco wireless router. It works but not as well as my trusty old reliable DLink did for many years (sigh).

This is a great replacement for any 5v 2.5a application. These are also probably safer to use than a knock-off brand because they are D-Link branded. I actually used this for another application but the original lasted about 5 years plugged in all the time - totally worth the low price!

I ordered an AF1805-A which is what the picture shows. What I received was a plastic sandwich bag that had a sticker on it saying AF1805-A but contained AMS3-0502500SU. The output voltage and amperage is a match but the input amperage draw is higher than the AF1805-A. In addition it is larger in size which is problematic for my configuration. If you are going to sell a replacement that is different from the original at least show me pictures of what I will be receiving. Very disappointed Amazon lets seller's get away with these tactics.

AF1205-B was the part number for my D-Link DGS-2208 switch. I ordered this from PerfectRouter and they sent a totally wrong product. It wasn't a D-Link part but it was rated 5v 2amp. The deal breaker was that the connector wouldn't work with the switch because the inside diameter of the inner contact was too large. It was returned for credit. I didn't trust the only other source for AF1205-B on Amazon (at that time) so I ordered this part. It is about 1/2" higher, 1/4" longer and 1/4" thicker than the AF1205-B but the connector fits and it works well with the D-Link DGS-2208 switch.
