Size: High-Back Verified Purchase
After spending many days researching chairs in the sub $200 category, I decided on this one. As you may note, this chair is extremely similar to the Lorell Executive Mesh High Back chair as well as the Alera Elusion High Back chair. Please keep in mind this is a review of a sub-$200 chair and will not be compared to the likes of $800-$1000 chairs, which seems some people like to do for some reason.

I work from home at least once per week as well as many hours dedicated to browsing the internet and gaming. So I needed a chair that had a high level of comfort for long periods of time. In this price range, it pretty much came down to a lot of store brand junkers as well as the Ikea Markus (which generally gets very favorable reviews across the board). I came upon the Proline II via PC Gamer's article from 02/05/2015 as their recommendation for budget chair. Bought it and overall am pleased. Overall build construction appears to be very good. So let's do some pros/cons:

Pros:
- Firm, dense seat cushion that still has plenty of give. I would not describe it as "plush", but the end result is that I still don't notice it after eight hours. That is a win when I consider comfort.
- Back mesh gives enough support and give. Good amount of lower and center-of-back support.
- Casters are silky smooth and move with ease.
- Plenty of adjustments available (seat front-to-back adjustment ,armrest height and width adjustment, seat angle adjustment, backrest angle adjustment, backrest tilt tension, and forward tilt). There aren't a ton of chairs at this pricepoint that give these adjustments.

Semi-Cons:
- For those needing a lot of lumbar support, I don't think this will fit the bill.Read more ›

I bought this chair a couple years ago and this is my review from that time on how well it has held up. Back then I was looking for a chair that had a few things. It had to:
-be a high back chair. Being a larger individual anything smaller I would not feel comfortable.
-be very adjustable. I needed seat tilt up and down with lock, seat back tilt with lock, adjustable seat back and forth and adjust able armrests up down and side to side.
-have a mesh back
-easy to clean cloth seat
-support about 250-300 lbs
This chair seemed to meet my criteria and so I purchased it with the easy to clean cloth (I cannot remember what it was called a couple years back, but it was stain proof.)

In those two years I have noticed a few things. The adjust-ability is great. If I do not feel comfortable, I can adjust to my need. The lumbar support is enough for me, besides you really do not need much if you know how to adjust this chair. Besides that I found that chairs with a bigger lumbar support tended to bother my back more. With the adjustable tilt and lock features I was able to prevent slouching. Has helped me tremendously and keeps me nice and comfortable for long hours. Also being a bigger person myself (I was about 290 and 5'10 when I bought this and used it) the chair was wide enough and tall enough to support my weight and back. Since then I've lost weight, but the chair has held up very very well. I do get creaks here and there, it is made of plastic after, but it has held up with no issues. I haven't had any of the tilt or other functions fail on me and the mesh has held up quite well despite the abuse I've put through. The cloth though could've been better.Read more ›

For the price the chair is a great buy. The main complaint is a lack of lumbar support. There is a ton of adjustment options but for me, lumbar support is most important. Your not going to beat it on price but be sure to get a small pillow for your lower back!

I am 6' 5" and the size of chair is suitable for me. I like it very much, since I can adjust it in many ways. Although is has a very soft and thick seat, sometimes I get tired of sitting on it! But I am satisfied with it :)

I've looked for a new desk chair for almost a year. I've sat in at least 50 that I didn't like.
This one is sooo comfortable and EVERYTHING is adjustable so I knew that I could tweak it to be just the way I liked. Its height adjustment goes from quite low to higher than any other chair I've tried.
I love this chair! The seat cushion is incredibly comfortable.
It took me about an hour to assemble it. Each step is clear; the only challenge was one bolt that goes behind the control arms - a 10mm wrench made that work. The different size bolts are bagged separately and clearly labeled - they even include the 2 different sizes of allen wrench that are needed.
I spent about 10 minutes setting it to my liking. When I first sat in it the seat it was wobbly which wasn't acceptable. As I played with the adjustments I realized that the seat was in the tilted-forward position for typing. As soon as I changed out of that setting it was absolutely solid.
When I took it to work I invited several coworkers to try it and they all loved it.
Keep in mind that my employer does provide each of us with a desk chair (I think mine was originally owned by Fred Flintstone) and if we want a better one we're free to do something about it. I'm thrilled that this is what I did about it!
