This item isn't the greatest, but it's a definite keeper. The Cool iPig is quite loud, but very distorted at high volumes. Average listening level is good quality sound, though.

The motion sensors are pretty good once you learn to use them. You have to be patient, and be sure the sensors aren't w/in 4 inches of anything. If you have a crowded shelf, the unit will play 5 seconds of every song before skipping ahead, due to the side sensors. My cat will turn this on in the middle of the night, also.

There is no instruction manual. The website links to the instructions for the regular iPig manual. The technical help on the website requires a Captcha, but doesn't offer one. The regular "Contact Us" gets no response. I would like the manual to explain three buttons on the remote, which I suspect should adjust the sensitivity of the motion detectors, or maybe turn them off, but instead it just activates "possessed iPig continually increases volume regardless of what you do" mode. I haven't had time (or earplugs) to do a thorough reverse engineering of the unit.

All in all, the portability is great. Wife loves the cuteness factor. The motion sensors are a bit annoying, but also quite helpful if you've got dirty hands. I think it's still got some bugs, and everything I've seen about the company indicates they don't have their act together enough to fix anything or really back this product. Would I buy again...big maybe...but I'm not sending this one back.

My wife and daughters each have an iPig/Panda/Boo......so when the wife saw this one with it's cool "Attitude" and the fact that it can be used with it's own rechargeable battery, she had to have it. Works nicely but I have to tell you that it's very sensitive to motion. You will have quite a learning curve and be very amused or very frustrated by changes in volume any time there is movement in the vicinity of the pigs ears. Sometimes it changes when you walk by, or it might change volume when you reach into the nearby cupboard. I think she is used to it by now and knows how to place it so that it doesn't get as many unwanted commands. Great to take out on the patio and have good sound without the power cord. The iPig line has great sound, as good as other iPod speaker systems that cost 2-3 times as much, not to mention they are just fun.

This is definately a BEST BUY. We love our pig so much we named it Party Pig. This thing works GREAT! The amount of sound that comes from our pig is very comparable to some of the higher end sterio's. The sound quality is remarkable. When your hands are full or dirty it's nice to be able to control your music with a simple motion never having to actually touch the device.

This was a great purchase. I was looking for room filling sound and this pig delivered. I have the iPod 4th gen plugged in and am very happy with the quality of sound from the cool pig. I would like to complain about the price however based on the quality and smile evoking design it wouldn't be fair.

I thought this would be a joke, but the sound quality was better than my Bose ipod speaker/player. I was amazed by the depth of sound rich bass and unreal volume. It can blow you away. So I give it a 5 for sound. Where it needs work is with the no touch controls. I kept inadvertently moving which caused the track to change or the volume to crank up. It gets aggravating. The battery is rechargeable and it plays forever. Bottom line, this little player is a keeper.

My husband and I have been using a Logitech S715i Rechargeable Speaker for iPod and iPhone for about a year to happy effect. We've been really impressed with the sound quality of that system and have been considering getting a second one to live in our kitchen. The iPig compares pretty well with the quality we've come to expect because all of the components are high quality and the sound is adjustable. It even has a subwoofer. Like the Logitech S715i, the iPig is rechargeable so you can move it around as needed.

One of the unique features of the iPig are the motion sensor controls. Movement around the ears adjusts volume while pause/resume controls are centered in the "nostrils" of the unit. The little patches behind the eyes act to skip forward or backward in your music library. The motion sensor controls are sensitive. I use the iPig in my kitchen so I try to position it far enough away from areas of industry to avoid unintended changes.

It's not a serious music listening device. It's a rather sassy looking pig that delivers better than average tunes anywhere you can give it a little room to run. Shelf friendly. There's even a remote that allows you to adjust bass and treble. Also, there's a cable so you can play with your "not-an-iproduct" music device. In a space pig sort of way, I can imagine it living quite nicely in Leonard and Sheldon's living room. Bazinga.
