Customers are mixed about the ease of use of the mobile application. Some mention that it's really easy to use, while others say that the UI is bit difficult and getting to the songs you want to listen to a bit frustrating. The player and the Cloud Drive's web interface are not respectful of the size limitations of their devices, making navigation frustrating. Overall, the product is easy in itself, but it requires a bunch of extra work to get the full value out of it.

I am really thrilled with Amazon Music. I started with the app for PC so I could enjoy my Amazon Prime Music benefits on my computer, but then added Amazon Music to my Galaxy Note and Kindle Fire. I am really sold on this, and here's why:
Being a Prime member, I can add a wide variety of music to my cloud storage for free, which is exactly what I did. Hundreds of songs - FREE! Not only that, but I also organized all of the music on my computer and set up playlists, which I realize is something that other software can do, but no other software gives you all of the advantages of Amazon Music with Prime Music.
I've purchased quite a bit of music from Amazon over the years and all of the music was available within Amazon Music. How convenient! I now no longer have to cart around CDs when I travel - I just fire up the Amazon Prime app and can access the music I've purchased, plus all of the free Prime Music I can handle. There is a wide enough variety there to satisfy even my eclectic tastes.
If you have existing audio on your devices, you can add it to the app and organize it into playlists as well. The one thing I've not been able to do, however, is combine both locally-stored music with music stored in the cloud. I'm not sure it's possible to do so. Even with that drawback, however, I find this app immensely useful.
I noticed some other people are complaining about how difficult/clunky it is to use. To be honest, I thought it was really straightforward and easy to use. One complaint that I saw says you can't use your newly-purchased music unless you download everything again... I bought some new music yesterday and I downloaded just the new music. It was very simple to figure out and download. Perhaps the complainers had an older version of the app?
If you are a Prime member and love music, I think you'll like this app. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
I am an Amazon MP3 convert. I first learned about the Amazon MP3 store when clicking buy on a song I liked from the slacker radio app. I have been hooked since. I have an approximately 6 GB music collection in iTunes and to my dismay, around 1/3 of them are DRM protected. While my wife is happy to purchase an iPhone, I would like to listen to my paid music on my computer AND on my Droid. Amazon MP3 to the rescue. The DRM free music allows me to listen stream my music from the Amazon cloud or download it and listen to it on my Droid, desktop computer, or laptop computer. All of this for the same price (and often cheaper) as iTunes.
I am also a participant in Google Music Beta but have found the Amazon player to be more to my liking. Not only does Amazon provide the ability to purchase music and download it directly to your cloud drive but the storage of music in your cloud drive is a free service. I did not realize until recently that the storage for music purchased directly from Amazon MP3 is not included in the 2 GB quota that is provided for the free cloud service.
I am also suspicious of Google's music beta. Don't get me wrong, I love Google and Google products and they have a track record of providing free services that offer alternatives to current paid services (often at potentially expensive costs to the company while upsetting competitors). However, the clause in Google Music Beta on the App Store that says "Free for a limited time ..." makes me nervous that they are waiting for people to upload their entire music library, become dependent on the service, and then start charging a subscription fee for storage or bandwidth.
But I digress. With Amazon MP3 purchase and download to your hearts content without worries about running out of cloud storage space or hidden or future costs. Then enjoy life streaming your music or downloading it to listen offline in areas where your reception is not so great (or if you do not have a unlimited data plan).
I use the Amazon Music app to manage all of the music that I download from the Amazon music store. I do this without ever subscribing to Amazon’s music “service,” which is something I have tried and don't particularly like. (All of my digital music from Amazon is either Prime or purchased.)
I have installed Amazon Music on all my Android devices except for, ironically, my Kindle Fire HD7 – which has all of the Amazon Music features already “baked” in to its software. I find the Amazon Music app very useful for my purposes, especially now that its interface has been redesigned. I can sort my downloaded music almost any way I wish – by genre, song, album, artist, whether it’s Prime music or music I’ve purchased.
I also have Amazon Music for PC, so whenever I purchase an album or song, it automatically downloads to whatever device I happen to use to make my purchase. Amazon Music for PC will synchronize itself with my Android devices, so I can very quickly see my new music on my smartphone and tablets almost as quickly as it appears on my laptop.
Amazon Music also serves as a music player on my devices. It does a very good job of sound reproduction, although it’s perhaps not quite in the same league with some other of the more full-featured (and expensive) music players.
I am very pleased with the Amazon Music app. It serves my purposes well, even though I don’t subscribe to Amazon’s music “service.” Highly recommended.
With every update, my opinion goes up and down. Sometimes the updates are good, other times not so much. Regarding this latest update, why is alphabetical sort not the default? Why do you make it the default with one update, remove it with the next, add it it back next time, and now you've removed it again? When adding a song to a playlist, there's not even an option to sort, so I have to search through a random list just because I haven't listened to that particular playlist in a few days.
Also, if I've downloaded this app from Amazon, and only update from Amazon, why can't I purchase songs from the app? This makes no sense.
Easy to manage and create own playlists. However selection is very limited in some areas and upgrading to paid app might be needed to get the music you want.
