How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

It does basically what it says its supposed to do. It has colorful lights jump to the music as it plays. For some reason i had it in my mind that the jumping water was based on the music read through the speakers, but it's just sound based. So if you want more water to jump with more intensity you have to turn it up louder. Hence, my purchase of head phone splitters was pretty much pointless. Even if your headphones are blasted all the way up for volume, if there is no volume coming out of the speakers, the water won't jump. Which was a error on my part for thinking that they would. THe speakers are obviously not the best, but it's not like its horrible. I would say it's pretty cool, but nothing stellar.

I was very disapointed in this product. The product description is misleading. It is advertised as a USB device. Well, that much is true. It is POWERED by a USB connection. However, it is not DRIVEN by a USB connection. It takes a standard speaker jack cable to get any sound. No directions come with the speakers. Since it is advertised as a USB device, you expect it to be a plug and play after hooking up the USB connection. SUPRISE! After wasting time going through troubleshooting the speakers I finaly realised that the additional cable was required and not an option for a different style of connection. The sound quality is poor to average at best. The "water show" effects do not respond well to anything other then bass. And even then I had to turn the volume up to almost 50% to get it to work.
So, if you like to play your music loud and the quality is not importnat, then these speakers will work for you. But if you are like me and just like a little enhansment while listening to high quality sound, then stay away. Geat for kids, not for serious listeners of music.
I do wish to add that I was not dissatisfired with the seller. Shipping was very fast, well packaged and the product description was what the manufacture has pubkished.

I wish the sound quality was better so I could give these a great review, but it really is quite bad. I would recommended using a headphone splitter and playing your audio through anything else and just using these for the visual effect which is quite entrancing. I might even attempt to disconnect the speaker part completely. However, the visual part alone is really quite impressive. They really are synced to the music so a loud section will make the water shoot the full height and a quiet section will just cause a little bubble.

Me and boyfriend got these for each other for christmas.
Both of them seem to have the same problem, that being that the right speaker doesn't work.
But it still dances to the music.
IT Occasionally makes a really strange noise.
But these are a pretty good buy. I wouldn't expect them to last forever. Boyfriend loved them, and so do I.

These were a gift for my teenage son's birthday and they are a HUGE hit! They are an average desktop speaker size, plug in to his iPhone using the headphone jack (or you can plug them in to your computer) and have made a BIG impact will all of his friends, who keep asking where we got them so they can get them as well. A lot of fun to watch! Speakers are average for the price, as long as you have realistic expectations. Don't expect Bose quality from a $40 set of speakers. But they get the job done and we are having a lot of fun watching the lights and water. I definitely recommend them.

I rated this three stars because though a nifty novelty, its performance as speakers is not great. There's also the matter of a buzzing noise the speakers make when idle (not playing any sounds) and its severity arbitrarily depends on what page or program you're using. I would probably consider recommending this item, would also advise against it due to the bothersome buzzing.

These worked awesome for about the first week or so. after that the speakers blew out and whatever pumps the water up into the speaker went out and all you could hear was like a grinding noise. They were cheap enough that it didnt make that much of a difference to me but i would have expected them to last longer than what they did.

This product looks great however when everything was connected and volume on both ends were turned half way up, no sound could be heard. We tried the volume on the speakers and on 3 different computers as well as 2 different smart phones and no sound could be heard
