A Chic & Eco-Conscious Option

I bought these for my son's vintage circus themed birthday party. We placed them in empty glass milk bottles to complete an old school look to the refreshment table. We served lemonade and horchata so the look was still super cute as guests were sipping these at the party. The milk bottles were small so any beverage wasn't going to last in the bottles for longer than 20 minutes. As such, these held up well during that time. Some folks replaced their straws during refills, but by no means were the straws deteriorating beyond use. They are paper straws so some sogginess I suppose is to be expected is in liquid for any great length of time. I was pleased with the product, knowing full well what the product was, and that these are not the nicest ones on the market. After all where most paper straws on the market are sold in packs of 25 for a few dollars, these are coming with 144 in a package for the same few dollars. This is actually why I purchased them for our party. Disposable items tend to get tossed well before their full life expectancy at parties, so why spend more money for less items or for non-eco conscious options? I collected all of the milk bottles to wash after the party and for those straws that were still in the bottles, I tossed in the compost pile. If I were a straw fan in my every day life, I would totally buy these more often and put them back into the earth through my compost pile.

1 Star (I hate it!) : The lowest score possible. Definitely not worth the money and time and effort! should only use this when the product really does not reflect the product listing. If there are any positives at all to the product or its use, you should not give it 1 star.
2 Stars (I don't like it.): The product is not exactly as described, either appearance-wise or functionally. The product may still be usable but it’s very different to what was described. The product may have a few faults. I'm not a fan of this item as it is no where close to my expectations and I won't order it again, but I can imagine a few others might find it functional as it has at least one positive quality.
3 Stars (It's okay): This item has both positive and negative qualities. I can definitely see some people loving or liking it as it may work for them, but I would likely not purchase in future. I purchased the birch pattern Kikkerland paper straws last May and am ordering another box in the bamboo pattern today. I really like this product, and it is good to know they are biodegradable and I am not sending plastic that will last forever out with my trash! Out of my last box of straws, I have had perhaps 5 of them get soggy at the bottom enough that I had to toss and replace it, and that was after at least 3 hours of use. I use these straws for iced tea and lemonade that I make with my Keurig coffeemaker, so they not only hold up to normal use, they hold up to HOT liquid being dispensed into my glass!!
I bought some silicone and plastic reusable straws at the same time I purchased my first box of paper straws, and haven't liked using them. I really don't want to wash straws for reuse and hope that I have gotten them clean enough. I also looked at the metal and glass straws, and decided I'd probably chip a tooth or otherwise hurt myself with them! I prefer to use straws when drinking cold beverages to keep myself from my bad habit of chewing ice, so I'm sticking with paper straws.

I read all of the negative reviews and still decided to purchase these - and I am so glad I did! I use these all the time when people come over and I always get compliments. I even used them in these holiday drink stocking stuffers I made this Christmas. People who are writing all of the negative reviews are criticizing these for getting soggy - they are PAPER straws, not plastic. These stay sturdier than a lot of other paper straws I have used before and they are great for parties where you are entertaining. I ALWAYS drink out of straws, but would never expect these to last all day. For daily use I choose plastic straws and reserve these for parties, fun iced coffees or when me and my husband make a few cocktails. If you are looking for cute, sturdy paper straws and understand what you can reasonably expect from paper straws, these are a great buy!

I ordered these for a woodland birthday party. They are very pretty! But like all pretty things, didn't last very long. Which, I mean, c'mon, they're biodegradable and PAPER. Paper isn't meant to hold up to liquid! They lasted long enough to get through the party, and they added a lot to the decor and feel of the party. That's exactly what I expected, and these straws delivered! Very satisfied.

Cons. Dont last more than 2min in a warm drink. Unknown sources and manufacturer so cannot be trusted as from personal experience these could be made by all sorts of different factories with sometimes little or no control on quality and suitability of materials. Looking at the small print these are made in China(see photo) Overpriced and would not recommend. Prefer to buy from local manufacturers for that sort of price of 7 to 8 quid as more chances that they will be made to EU safety standrads. Box not sealed apart from flimsy sticker so arrived half open. Avoid

Whilst we’ve had these straws many, many times before I was disappointed to discover that although the package itself was fine, once open the box of straws was damaged and open and half the straws had spilled out.

I ordered two boxes of straws, red and grey, red straws were sort of ok, but the box with grey straws had lots of issues, firstly, it was 4 straws short, so I have received only 140 instead of 144, and that's an issue for me, as I have to prepare 12 packs of 12 straws each (I only managed 11 parks and 8 straws leftovers). Secondly, the pattern of straws was off as well, 30% of the lines were not going the same direction as others. And finally, all straws at the bottom were slipped off. So in the end, I had no choice just to bin them. What a waste....
