I got this more as a joke gift for my niece, well after reading through it i decided to keep another year for when my nephew graduates. The title pretty much let's you know how the book is written and some of the situations that come up are pretty wild. I am a bit more comfortable giving to my nephew rather than my niece. Read through some of the tips for yourself. I do think my nephew will have many laughs with his friends reading through it.

Says it's for COEDs, but is filled with unfunny tropes for only straight male readers

I bought this book for my younger sister. I saw that there was a women credited as author, so I felt hopeful that this book would be filled with funny idioms for those of both genders. I was wrong.

It has a section advising young men what to do when "Your roommate is gay and wants your ass."
It advises young men who have a last minute paper to do to get their girlfriend to do it for them.
HAHAHA-GAYS AND FEEMALES! AM I RITE BROS?

Any inclusion of the female gender is purely an afterthought buried deeply a midst pedestrian and unfunny tropes. The whole book is written with a straight, white male in mind, ignoring the fact that these days there are more women than men receiving higher education.

TL:DR? This book is hella lame.

This book was not at all what I thought it to be. It was obviously written by some very immature, white fraternity brats who have miles to go before they grow up. Thankfully, I teach at a community college so I know that the authors are NOT a reflection of the majority of young "adults". Very degrading to women, very repulsive language and just all round raunchy.

Sexist and Insulting

While the concepts were obviously funny and could have been made into a really good book, the writing was overly juvenile and written almost exclusively with crude humor and insults. The "For the Ladies" sections were particularly awful: they repeatedly called women "sluts" and "whores" for even thinking about sexual behavior - behavior that they had just encouraged in men for the last two pages. Women (even college educated women) are portrayed as nothing but objects for the sexual gratification of the male reader, and any woman who dares take a women's studies course (in the section "You're the only guy in your women's studies class") is called an "angry, embittered woman looking for a face to blame". All in all, I was horrified by the blatant sexism in this book, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I understand that this book is supposed to be comedy, but when it starts being openly sexist, it stops being funny and just becomes degrading.
