I wanted to buy a giftcard for someone in living in Canada and unfortunately bought the gift card from Amazon.com. Amazon.com now refuses to transfer my gift card amount to Amazon.ca. Absolutely not happy that the overall company is not willing to help out. Be very careful when ordering Canada vs U.S.

The great thing about these amazon gift cards is that it makes a much better gift than simply giving someone a gift card to a specific store, since you can buy almost anything on amazon.

The negative aspect is that sometimes I don't believe that the gift card was received, until the person who got it actually redeems it, at which point it shows in your orders that the card has been used. The saving grace to this, is that you may "resend" the gift card up until it gets reedemed, just incase the email that includes the card gets lost or never arrives.

Anyway, a way around this is simply buying a physical amazon gift card if that suits you better.

What a great idea! Too bad Amazon ruined it with several inexcusable technical difficulties!

1) No delivery confirmation, whether sent by e-mail or other method!
(Yet one can e-mail the same gift card to 2+ different addresses)

2) No way to delete a gift card (if there is a mistake or duplicate) and start over without cancelling ALL gift cards created. REALLY ??? How lame is that Amazon....given the ordinary "cart" flexibilities with other products !?!?

3) Very touchy e-form that creates multiple gift cards when back button used....or if you correct anything...or even add additional e-mail address.....AND THEN SEE #2, Can't delete extra card without losing everything (even other cards that are completed)!

Strange that I've been asked to submit a review for this product really, as it's a product that I've not had the chance to enjoy. Well, this and the other four gift cards that were purchased by the delightful human being that hacked my Amazon account and also stole money from my bank account on July 20th 2012.

I hope that the purchaser really gained enjoyment from their gifts while I've been left out of pocket by Amazon's awful customer service and lack of urgency in processing any refund that is due to me. The only gain I've had from this, is to my email in and out boxes - some 15 emails have been sent to Amazon with not one single reply addressing their fault or answering my complaint. Actually...they've refused to accept any complaint and advised me that there is no complaint department at all.

So there you go, a glowing review for Gift Cards that I paid for but never owned.

Thank you Amazon - you're fantastic.

Talk about making it easy. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister who lives 2 states away. The card was so cute and magical. It really made the whole gift card thing special when they usually aren't. I love knowing that these will be delivered when I want them to be instead of sending through the mail and worrying whether it's going to make it on time or not. This just makes so much more sense and makes it so much more convenient. It's one less thing you have to worry about during the holidays, so I'm grateful to Amazon for offering this as a wonderful gift giving option. These aren't just for Christmas either. Amazon offers e-card options for birthdays and just about any holiday you can think of, and believe me, I buy a lot of them throughout the year.

Did not know the card was not received by recipient until I asked, and thank goodness I did. My daughter would have thought I didn't send her anything for her birthday and I was sitting there thinking that it would have been nice for her to tell me thank you. Instead, the e-mailed gift card was never received by her e-mail and there was no reply to my e-mail tellling me that. The process for re-delivering cards was simple enough, however, I will never send cards in this manner again.
