Oh, finally some brown rice I can eat daily

I've been buying small amounts of brown rice at all the health food stores in Denver, my new home. Prices range from expensive to ridiculous; I've had stores order special types in for me to try.

I don't know why I took a chance on buying a bag this large, but since I eat only steel-cut oats and brown rice as grains I will be using a lot of it.

I'm very glad that I did. This rice has a great smell while it's cooking, I put it in my Zojirushi cooker and it didn't take all that long to have perfect rice.

I use this rice in a variety of ways, even putting honey in it and using it as a breakfast cereal. My palate is undoubtedly weird, but I don't care, my diet has saved my life.

As I will be eating this rice nearly every day, I'm very pleased with the price and thrilled with the flavor and texture.

Brown rice that actually tastes good

I never liked eating brown rice growing up even though my parents tried it for quite some time. I looked and tried several different brown rice brands before sticking with this brand a few years ago.

Some of my friends that brown rice takes a lot longer time to cook. Well, this brand allows me to cook with white rice setting in a rice cooker. The only adjustment that I have to do is to use 1.25 cup of water for every cup of rice. I do like my rice to be separated, so I add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. With this method, the rice always comes up good and chewy.

I do not need to put salt in this rice at all. This is very good quality and it tastes great. We have been eating White Basmati rice and were spoiled to it fragrant aroma and delicious taste; so we were skeptical when we were encouraged to eat natural brown rice for health benefits. After cooking this and with the unison approval of my young children we are going to be eating Nishiki Brown Rice for the foreseeable future! Nice Rice, indeed!

I ordered this rice, willing to take a chance, and it turned out be the best brown rice Ive ever eaten or made.
I have a rice maker that I have been using to make texmati rice and it was always ok, but the Nishiki rice cooks flawlessly. Just set the rice maker to brown rice add the rice and fill with water to brown rice line and let it do its thing.(no rinsing or soaking etc.) The rice comes out perfect!! The texture of the rice is "meaty" it has substance without being cruchy or undercooked. The taste is somewhat "nutty and rich". If your on the fence try it I believe youll be happy.

I first bought this rice at $17.33, now the price is over $22! As per another a suggestion, I found that I can buy a 25lbs bag of brown rice at Costco for $18. So, I love this rice, however I find it hard to pay that much considering the price has jumped that high in the last couple months. Also if you don't have an order of over $35, they want $16.50 in shipping! That is insane. Good rice, but as with other foods on Amazon, it's getting harder to justify the cost.

Great rice.

Excellent quality rice. This rice is especially good for those who are iffy on the taste of brown rice as this rice has a much milder flavor profile. The whole family enjoys this rice. Admittedly, I purchased this rice from an Asian market for less than $20 and do not plan on ordering from Amazon. But if you don't live close to an ethnic market and want a high quality, mild tasting brown rice, this is your brand.

This is gross! I used to love ordering the brown rice here on Amazon so I don't need to carry back to my car and to the house, and the first time I ordered it, the rice was great! Delicious, good quality and fast shipping. However, this time when I pull the rice into my rice container, there were at least 20 rice bugs hanging inside the bag, ALIVE! Some of the brown rice are greenish, I guess they probably went bad! Since I already opened the package and pulled the rice out, I don't think I can return this but I certainly wouldn't cook this. I would be really pleased if the seller issued me a refund.

It's great brown rice, and I eat a lot of it so I was happy to have a subscription. Unfortunately, my most recent bag also contained moths. I'm not squeamish about a bug or two, but this was an infestation. I'm sorry to have to cancel my subscription, but I no longer trust this source.
