I ultimately recommend the insanity FF DVD more and here is why.
STRETCHING:
Fast and Furious has stretching halfway thru and at the end. This is better for injury prevention. Core Speed only does it at the end.
EXERCISES:
Fast and Furious exercises are much easier to learn and to perform. Core Speed feels like you are learning complex dance moves. I really have no interest in being a backup dancer for Miley Cyrus. Sure those dance moves look cool but I want to spend time working out not looking cool. After doing both, I feel the Fast and Furious exercises are harder as well but easier on the joints than Core Speed. Core Speed does a lot of twisting and turning which can stress joints. Admittedly Fast and Furious does a bit of jumping which is also another stress but something I'm more used to. The Fast and Furious exercises are also more similar to exercises I've done in the past (similar to basketball and football).
Note Core Speed does have a modifier person who you can follow for a low impact version. Fast and Furious doesn't.
Core Speed repeats exercises up to 3 times. I feel like I'm doing the same thing over and over again. Fine I guess if you enjoy them, but I find Core Speed more boring. I like the diversity of Fast and Furious which repeats once in the first half (first slow speed, 2nd time faster speed). And doesn't repeat at all in the 2nd half.
Both have a timer bar and info bar at the bottom of the screen. Both do a decent job of changing camera angle so you can see the exercises from different perspectives.
MOTIVATION?:
As for the viewing. Shaun T is clearly rapping and dancing in Core Speed. There are 2 guys and 2 girls in Core Speed (1 of the girls is the modifier). The setting is this super fancy modern looking gym with huge T25 symbols all over the gym. Camera work is sharp. The 4 other people do the exercises perfectly like Shaun T.
In Fast and Furious, there is 1 girl and 1 guy. No modifier. It is set in what could be your local gym. The camera work is more amateurish as you see the cords at times and there is slight camera movement at times. Also the 2 other people appear to be learning the exercises on the fly and do them with variable success. Some are so hard that they have to take breaks inbetween. Even Shaun T admits he has to take a break. There is laughing and joking and an all around fun atmosphere.
Even though Shaun T is always a good motivator and fun to follow I find the low budget production of Fast and Furious so much more entertaining to watch. It's hilarious to see the guy shake his head at one point because the exercises are so tiring. It's almost like Shaun T just grabbed two of his buddies to make this video at the last minute. I love it. The little nuances and imperfections actually make it more fun to watch and follow.
OVERALL:
I strongly recommend the Fast and Furious version. It is easier to follow, a better workout, more entertaining. perhaps also less injury prone because of the more standard exercises and more stretching. Just depends on your preference. Shaun T is solid always. Keep these coming!
I recently completed the P90X: Tony Horton's 90-Day Extreme Home Fitness Workout DVD Program . For those that do not know, the P90X is a 90 day program that focuses on strengthening exercises. I was able to become stronger as well as toning and developing the muscles that I have but was not able to lose as much weight and fat as I desired. Also, I realized that the cardio portions of the P90x program were a great weakness of mine and have an interest in the INSANITY: 60-Day Total Body Conditioning Workout DVD Program .
Jumping straight into the P90x program was an eye opening experience. I thought I was in shape but after the first week realized how unprepared I was for the program. Before jumping headlong into the Insanity program, I first want to see if I am physically prepared for what lies ahead of me as well as make sure this program is in line with what I need for my continued physical development.
This DVD is a 20 minute DVD. It is designed as an introductory DVD to the program of Insanity as well as a supplement if you are unable to do a full 40+ minute workout.
USEAGE:
I prepared myself for the 20 minutes which I thought would go by rather quickly. I was very VERY WRONG would be one day of describing the experience.
The DVD is only 20 minutes but those 20 minutes are INTENSE from start to finish. You will be jumping, running, doing core work, ab work, and so much more. The routine is all over and truly is a full body work out. The main purpose for myself, of course, was the cardio aspect of the routine. I was dripping sweat and felt like I had just run a marathon afterwards.
Shaun T is a very a very good instructor. It is obvious he is a positive man who enjoys what he does for a living and this helps with encouraging you to keep up the pace throughout the entire workout secession.
I am glad I picked up this DVD. I began to incorporate it in my normal work out routine and combined it with Ab Ripper X from P90x to prepare for Insanity. Also is incredible on those days that I am unable to fit a full work-out secession in.
PROS:

++ Perfect if your short on time
++ Great introductory and preparation for full Insanity Program
++ No equipment needed other than equipment to play DVD and clothes to work out in

CONCLUSION:
This is a great introductory for the full Insanity program to determine both if you are prepared enough for the program and to make sure the program is right for you. Also is a great supplement for those short on time or need variation.
