I had been looking for a laptop desk/table/tray like this for some time; at one point, before discovering this product, I had seriously considered designing and constructing my own. Fortunately I found this first, because it is, in all respects, nearly identical to what I had in mind. I did not, however, purchase the product immediately upon finding it, largely in part due to the poor reviews by some people regarding the joints/buttons. I cannot speak for them, and it's entirely possible that early models had a manufacturing problem, but I can say that's not the case anymore. That being said, here is my review:

Basic Overview
First off, I will only recommend this particular model, I know there are others, so don't take my review and think that it will apply to those models, because it might not.

This model is made out of very sturdy aluminum and is brushed silver; looks very nice and techie (for those of you that care about looks)
The overall weight of the product is very light, so it is easy to push around, pick-up, etc.
The joints are solid black plastic with aluminum buttons; there are three joints (adjustments points) on each side that gives you a wide range of settings/setup
The buttons can be difficult to press, because both the spring and the locks must be strong enough to not only support the weight of your laptop, but you banging on it. So to make adjustments, it does take a good bit of strength to depress the button; and from my personal experience, it should only be done without the laptop sitting on it. There have been a couple times when I went to adjust the tray and the buttons did not depress, but simply applying some pressure on the leg while pushing in the button resolved that; not unlike having to turn a cap on a bottle backwards to get the threads to line up.
The tray on this model is vented and has two fans with a single USB plug on it. The fans are silent and do a good job of keeping the laptop cool. The tray itself never seems to even get warm.
At the front of the tray, there are two plastic clips that are locked into a slot on the front, allowing them to slide left/right. These clips are intended to help hold the laptop from sliding off when the tray is placed at steep inclines. While they do a moderately good job of this, they're better suited for slim line laptops like the Mac Book Air thing. If you own a real laptop and not a toy, you're going to find these clips will be unable to hold your laptop in place if you intend to have the tray at nearly upright positions like they show in some of the product pictures. A better solution, IMHO, for that would be to purchase some Velcro dots that you put on both the bottom of your laptop and on the tray to keep it in position, but this is not something that I have had to do myself, since I do not use the tray at those kinds of inclined positions.

A bit of a side note in all this:
I have lower back problems, what does that have to do with anything? Everything, for the first time I can lay on the floor when my back hurts with this tray positioned so that I can actually do work and feel like I'm being productive, instead of just laying on the floor like like a lump of useless flesh. This was one of my goals with getting something like this, and it works perfectly for just this kind of situation.

Some possible cons and nitpicking
1. The instructions aren't great, and it took me a bit to figure out how to get the legs/tray oriented, but once you spend some time with it, you'll most likely figure out a couple positions that work for you, and you'll never need that page again
2. If you are heavy, large, big boned, over weight, an NFL line backer, Professional Body Builder or Shaquille o'Neal, this tray probably isn't going to be wide enough for you. If the manufacture were smart, they'd make a larger size for larger people.
3. If you have arthritis or are in your older (aka golden years) and lack hand strength, you may find making adjustments to this tray impossible; that maybe a deal killer for some of you out there, so I thought I should mention it.
4. The surface of the tray is rather smooth, and while it has the aforementioned clips on the front to help keep the laptop in place, it's not going to help much if you intend to use the tray at steep inclines. I don't believe this is a deal killer, it just might require some invention on your part to figure out how best to keep your laptop affixed to the tray (see my previous remarks about Velcro)

Recommendations for the manufacture:
1. The price is to high for most people. I'd really like to see this around the $30-40 price point, I think you'd get far better market penetration if you lowered the price. If someone is trying to determine if they should try/buy your product unseen, like many do here on Amazon, the current price point can be a deal breaker.
2. You all need to get with Dell and/or Apple, personally I'd try Dell, and get them to resell your product. It's good enough and there's nothing else like it on the market.

TL;DR: I recommend this laptop tray to anyone that's been looking for a solid, adjustable tray that can be used just about any place. While the entry price is steep, if you can wing it, it's worth it and there's nothing else on the market currently like it; at least nothing I have personally seen or can recommend at this time.

I spent HOURS looking for a laptop stand (work from home & just needed something to use when I didn't feel like sitting at my desk or needed a change of scenery). I ordered 3 different kinds - Lapinator Plus! (WAY overpriced & too small, I returned) and Myplace Laptop Table Workstation (which I also kept). I loved the fact this has so many angles/options, came assembled & is intuitive to figure out (not only how to use but how to adjust height/angle, etc). It's exactly as described, feels very sturdy & high-quality, and gives me a lot of options. Worth the price & highly recommended.

I cringed a little paying for what I considered to be the "more expensive" option of all stands that are available.

However, I can see there are a few reasons it's completely worth it:
1. Solid metal body
2. Vented
3. Dials with degree display
4. Soft arm resting pad (HUGE benefit!!!)
5. Does NOT require you to affix any Velcro to your computer.

I'm using it with my 17" macbook and I have at least 3 spare inches. The stand legs don't even touch my thighs (and I'm considered "curvy). :)

I'm a full-time professional by day and a full time master's student by night. I have a back condition called spondylolisthesis. To maintain spinal health I: do a lot of yoga, see an acupressure chiropractor, and use my inversion table and foam roller at home. However, when I start school, I notice that the hours on the computer add up too much and display themselves symptomatically in my back and body health.

So, I bought this desk along with a yoga bolster and a "chair" pillow (pillow that has arms).

This gives me a whole new computing position and helps with not compressing my spine the WHOLE time I'm on the computer all day.

This is a nice little table. You can fold the feet all sorts of ways. I use it for my computer mostly but I can use it as an eating in bed table too. You can't see them, but the black knobs on the sides have numbers on them both positive and negative so when you set it up just the way you want it for one thing, write the numbers down and put them somewhere (I make a label with my Dymo and put the sets on the table itself). When you want to change the setting and get it where you want it, write THOSE numbers down and put them where the first set is. This way, you don't have to keep fiddling around with it - you know the numbers and where they go for where you want to put the table. EZ! It holds my 17" laptop with ease. You can also fold it flat and put it away when not in use. JUST DON'T FORGET TO WRITE THE NUMBERS DOWN WHEN YOU GET IT SET!!! I have the pink one. The company even sent me a small case as a present - half leather, half nylon. I use that for my remotes. This is worth the money.

So glad I decided to purchase this thing. I am a digital illustrator/artist and I have a wacom cintiqu companion I use to do all of my artwork. But I am a tall guy and hover over the top of my desk surface quite a bit so I was always feeling really hunched over the tablet. Now I am able to raise the drawing tablet up to a much more comfortable height/angle for me and it has made a world of difference. I was very happy with how nicely the joints lock into place. I was also amazed at how sturdy it has been given that it really does not weigh very much. I highly recommend.
