Artisana is a small team of super dedicated people making organic and raw nut butters in Oakland, California. We started Artisana in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2002 and introduced our products at farmer's markets and festivals around California. We work with local farmers for our almonds and walnuts and with farmers around the globe for many of our other ingredients. We're committed to sustainable and fairly-traded ingredients that are always certified organic. Today, you can find Artisana Organics in natural foods stores across the country as well as other familiar regional supermarket chains. I really love this coconut oil.
I deal with chemical sensitivities and can’t use conditioners and regular body lotion and use coconut oil for this instead, which is actually better, better for you and is very pure.
I’ve tried many other coconut oils before.
Artisana coconut oil leaves your skin and hair softer than other coconut oils I’ve tried. It’s also raw and smells more coco-nutty.
If you apply this to your skin as a moisturizer after you shave, you don’t deal with any irritation bumps.
I use Artisana raw coconut oil before any other.
There’s a lot of love in this.and it smells so good! Very very pure and good for your skin. What you put on your skin goes into your body.
And this is so pure, you could literally eat it and do oil pulling with it (mouth and teeth) and it just makes everything better.
I really love this coconut oil and purchase it again and again!

I’ve tried so many brands of coconut oil and so far this is the best. It may be a bit more expensive but it’s worth it. The glass jars come well packaged and on time. They’re the perfect size for storing leftovers and lunch salads. I only use it for cooking. Taste is mild.

I find this to be very high quality organic coconut oil. It does not need to be refrigerated*.
It has a variety of uses: Mainly I use it in place of butter on bread, muffins and bagels. However, I also use it as a skin, cuticle and hair moisturizer and it even works on itchy skin rashes/bites as well. :-)
(I also especially like Artisana's Organic Almond Butter that I use in place of peanut butter as a more nutritious alternative.)
*Note: Because coconut oil is a solid that liquefies when heated, mine actually arrived with some slight (solidified) seepage within the bubble wrap even though the seals on the cap were not broken. I didn't let this concern me since, as stated above, this does not need refrigeration even after opening. Somewhere along there delivery route ort must have been subjected to heat but it was back to solid form when delivered.

I have since been ingesting this bottle of coconut oil with no ill effects, so should this happen to your jar, I wouldn't let it concern you. I will continue to purchase this product.

It might seem pricey to some but oner jar lasts a long time and with its multitude of uses you get a lot of bang (or coconut oil) for your bucks.

My husband has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and we decided to try using coconut oil based upon Dr. Mary Newport's book "What If There Was A Cure For Alzheimer's and Nobody Knew" (sic). The coconut oil seems to have been helpful, but this Artisana product is the only way we have found for him to take it when we are out for a meal or traveling. Because of the packaging, it is easy to knead and warm up before putting in food and is very portable.
