Lights Out is an ambitious character drama centering around a retired boxer who suffers from pugilistic dementia, the gradual loss of memories suffered after blunt force trauma to the head. Holt McCallany stars as Lights Leary, an aging former heavyweight boxing champion who struggles to find his identity and support his wife and three daughters after retiring from the ring.
Just a great show for any boxing fan, but especially if you live in NJ. Wish the show had gone on longer but I guess the fan base wasn't there or maybe the production costs were too high, but it is a shame. "Lights" Leary reminds me very much of New Jersey's own Bobby Czyz. Great, GREAT show !
Love this show, a show for anybody, fighter enthusiast and fan alike. Inspiring and motivating, this show has heart, energy, love, pain, and more that will fill all your needs as a show. I can't get enough!!! Sad that there is only one season.
Lights out was Amazing. Great acting and an amazing story. Former golden boy athlete turned middle aged man must return to boxing because of his financial mismanagement. Through his route to get back in fighting shape he must deal with decrepitude of his body, brain trauma, organized crime and his own family. An amazing piece of art.
If the Sopranos and Rocky banged on a showtime's copy machine, this might be its bastard child. the pilot was pretty good, but the show gets deeper with each episode. the soundtrack is amazing, especially the shows original music. well worth the time. i didnt expect to like it this much.
