We researched remote control cars for quite some time. My 10 year old had gotten several "duds" over the past few years, and we were looking for a durable remote control car of some sort that wasn't one you had to pay several hundred for at a hobby store. Certain other brands we have tried (even ones we bought at Costco) were really cheap and broke within a few uses, even with kid that is actually pretty careful with his toys. So we saw the good ratings for this one, and my son LOVED the looks of it. And it sounded kind of fun to have one that drifts too!
So far this car has not disappointed, it goes super fast, and is very durable. We even let our 3 year old try it for brief periods of time and she hasn't broken it, lol!
The "drift" feature on this car is actually really unique and makes for a LOT of fun. So happy we chose this car. I would definitely recommend it for the price point, fun, and durability. FYI, don't buy anything from NKOK, those are the ones that break right away. I don't even know how that company exists anymore, their stuff is so poorly made. I guess Hot Wheels has been a household name for so many years for a reason, their stuff lasts and is more kid friendly.

My agency is running the campaign for this product. When I saw the video, I had to have this car for my boys. So, I purchased two. The car is super fun. It has a unique design that allows the operator to easily simulate drifting and if you take the time to master it, you can corner like a rally champ. They are made of hard plastic, so I'm not sure how well they'll hold up. My kids are busy jumping them off of the deck as we speak. But they are reasonably priced, so I won't be too bummed when they ultimately bite the dust. My only complaint, and it's a huge one of you have 2 kids, is that you cannot switch the channel that the car operates on. So, the remotes each try to drive both cars. These things are so cool, there's no possible way to purchase just one if you have more than one interested kid. Would be great to just add that little switch to solve it. I wrote to Mattel but was met with radio silence as expected. I'm going to crack one of them open and look for a way to potentially overcome the conflict manually, but I have low expectations.

As much as I love this little car there's one glaring issue that prevents me from giving it top honors. I'll start with the good: it's really nicely detailed, quick, and after quite a bit of use it hasn't even made a dent in the AA batteries it runs on.

Now for the not so good: the controller is pretty unique and if you're used to the 2 typical layouts of other controllers it'll take a minute to get used to (not a big deal). The biggest issue is after watching several user and manufacturers videos I was eager to take it in the driveway with my daughter and drift it through a little figure 8 course. All was going well (if not very noisy on cement) until I picked up the car and examined it. As I already knew before purchasing the car, the single drive wheel is located under the car which gives it the ability to drift. However, the road wheels are made of plastic. No rubber, no foam, just regular old plastic so after about 5 minutes of use they were badly scraped up to the point where I didn't want to damage it any further and took it back inside.

All in all it's a very fun product that is for indoor use, or for use on the smoothest of surfaces like a garage floor. I'm going to buy a roll of black duct tape and cut "boots" for the wheels so I can continue to use it in the driveway but don't have aspirations that you're going to use this in the street.

You need to have hard wood floor. The design of the wheels on this car is poor. It stops easily when the floor is not smooth. It is probably fun for a four year old boy not too much for those who are 11 or 12 years old. I got this for the nephews to play. They don't really care about it that much. They are more into their PS games. Nowadays, these kids are all into computer games. Sigh! I gave three stars. The toy itself is fine. But a little over priced ... so I only gave three stars instead of four stars. I will not recommend to a friend.
