Great Price, Amazing Speed

After the motherboard loaded, it took just 12 or so seconds... to not only get on my desktop, but to open chrome and login into my email (perhaps being on windows 8 makes it slightly quicker, I can't really say since I didn't have 7 on the SSD)

Managed to get a 240GB refurbished for $160, the bigger programs on my PC like 3ds Max open atleast twice as fast ( and i'm sure for those who have it know that it takes its sweet time to load up )

As a tip, don't play with raid unless you know what your doing, I corrupted my original hardrive and had to reformat

If your going to run this side by side with another hardrive and you hooked it up properly but one doesn't show, you need to go into disk partioning tool and create a new simple volume/assign it a drive letter

SSD is a very visible performance upgrade (operating system should diffidently be installed on it)

One final thing, your motherboard may or may not use all the potential of 6 gb/s, mine uses 3 gb/s, unfortunate but it's still extremely fast.

Well first off let me say I got this item just a couple of days ago. The best part is it shipped with the most current firmware version 2.11. This drive was plug and play. I did a clean install of windows 7 that took less than 20 minutes. Windows 7 boots up in 15 secs +/-. I have had no problems with the drive so far. with a lot of less than stellar reviews I was a bit hesitant to purchase this drive till I read up on the 2.11 firmware. I think OCZ got it right with this firmware. It is a shame that it did not ship with this firmware from the beginning though. the speed just amazes me. The only thing I didn't like about this000 drive was that it did not come with a cloning software disk like Samsung and Intel drives. I would not have used it but think it should be there non the less. The "My SSD is faster than your HDD" did give me a good chuckle so I'm not marking down for the lack of cloning disk. In short if you are worried about the bad reviews about BSOD and such DON'T. Read up on the 2.11 firmware and I'm telling you it IS done right. I hope this helps and good luck in your SSD search!

Vertex 3 WITH GOOD Firmware

I was thinking if I should get this or the Patriot Wildfire. Then I saw OCZ just released Firmware v2.15 which is a major firmware fix which is supposed to fix many issues and most of the BSODs. So I got this. Amazon already has the SSDs in stock with v2.15 on board, a I learned when I got it. Hooked it in, works great as a secondary. Went ahead and put Windows 7 on it and it still works awesomely. Everything loads instantly compared to my year old Caviar Black WD. Soon I'll put Battlefield 3 on this baby. SSD has been running all day and no BSOD yet. Not even a hiccup.

ATTO is giving me as advertised, around 525-560MB/s reads, writes are as advertised as well (Can't remember them specifically, don't feel like killing it with benchmarks right now).

Using with Crosshair IV Formula, native 6Gb/s support. Now time to install all them drivers........

Easy Install, Fast...

This was an Amazon Prime purchase that arrived in 48 hours, took 5 minutes [from beginning to end] to install in my home-pc build, and has been working error-free [albeit for the few days I have owned the product]. I have not tested read-write speeds via benchmarking tools such as AS SSD Benchmark, but am satisfied with performance gains over my 2010 WD Caviar Black HDD's performance. I also have an OCZ 240 gb SSD installed in my laptop and to date have had no substantial issues with OCZ performance in my devices.

Highly Recommended!

I just purchased two of these drives; Both shipped with the latest (10/05/12 - 2.25) firmware, which has long since resolved the problems which troubled this drive. Don't be afraid of the one star reviews, the drive is now problem-free.

If you're looking for the latest and greatest, this isn't it. If you're looking for a good deal to spruce up an aging computer, this is a great deal ($90 currently).

I. will never. use a regular hard drive.. again. Put your operating system on this puppy and use the rusty platters for storage. You'll never have a speed issue. I've had this unit for well over a year and I'm having no issues with it.. and I haven't even updated the firmware.

Blazing fast speeds and easy to install (In a MacBook Pro laptop)

I replaced my main hard drive on my MacBook Pro with this SSD. Although it may not be the largest drive, it is more than sufficient for the operating system along with all my applications. The laptop boots in about 8 seconds from a cold start and programs open up extremely rapidly as well. A great product with a consumer friendly price.

Worked well for a month

Worked well for a month then failed.
OCZ were MOST UNHELPFUL with warranty, received it back after a couple of months, NOT FIXED.
Very disappointed... Have been buying INTEL since then...... no failures, no problems.
Note... Other OCZ SSD's that I have are working OK.
