When Princeton created their synthetic version of a squirrel hair brush, they never imagined it may actually outperform the natural version. Brushes are designed with the softest and thirstiest synthetic hair Princeton has ever made, allowing you to experience a new level of creativity and control in your painting. Soft and supple bristles drink up watercolor and hold a reservoir of water, delivering oceans of color to the sheet. One of my favorite watercolor brushes!
Neptune is one of my favorites. They’re affordable and really great, especially for beginners who want to upgrade their brushes but, not break the bank. They’re definitely worth a try. They are “thirsty” brushes. Hold a good amount of water and also pigment. Mine game with plastic cover, I saw another review that didn’t come with cover and the bristles were funky. Mine came perfectly without any issues. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Brush
Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2020
I liked this brush a lot. I usually use Silver brushes for watercolor, but opted to try these out. It held a good deal of water. I was also able to get very crisp lines along with wider washes. The brush is uniform, without little random hairs sticking out anywhere. It is a good brush. I’d definitely buy a Princeton Neptune brush again. (Picture was made with one size 10 round brush.)
