I've watched a number of documentaries and fictional movies based on LARP, and this one stands out from the others. What sets it apart in my opinion is that the people profiled are not depicted as socially inept outcasts, but regular folks who enjoy the sport/activity/art. I've never LARP'd, but this movie made it look pretty cool.

I am fascinated by the LARP community. I grew up on old school Dungeons and Dragons, and that will always be near and dear to my heart. LARPing takes this, obviously, to a new level. If you are interested in this subculture, to include not only the D&D crowd, but also - importantly - murder-mystery-type LARPing, you will definitely enjoy this documentary.

Most larping documentaries have been pretty depressing to watch, this one was much more enjoyable to watch and it covers more than just the high fantasy D&D style larp, which was cool to see.

i regret renting this. it gave no true insight as to why these people seem, almost driven, to choose this game as a hobby. i still dont get it.
