Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Does what it's designed to do with only minor flaws.
Having owned a Keurig B145 for less than a week, I was immediately excited at the prospect of getting refillable cups to put my own coffee in. Not to knock the Keurig coffees, but I'm partial to the Mill Mountain coffee available here in Virginia. I received my ekobrew cups today and have made two cups of coffee with them. I probably don't have the classiest tastes in coffee but here are some notes:- the first cup I made I filled to the "fill line" imprinted on the inside of the cup. Doing this made a rich cup of coffee but a smaller serving than the 8 ounces it was set to. Some leakage had occurred after I opened the clamshell. It also seemed like the pump ran longer, however it didn't seem to be "struggling" like other reviewer have said, just longer running.- the lid on the ekobrew cup seems flimsy and bowed which I suspect is partially to blame for some of the slight leakage I'm noticing. The leaks are not a big deal as it doesn't come out of the unit, but it certainly isn't as clean as the K Cups when you go to remove.- the second cup I made using one heaping teaspoon of coffee. This filled the cup slightly over halfway. Of course this lead to a weaker cup of coffee than the first, but the Keurig seems to operate more like I'm used to AND I get more of an accurate serving size. The coffee from this run wasn't watery, just not as rich as the first.- Many people complain of residue at the bottom of the cup which I've noticed as well. This is a non-issue in my opinion as every cup of coffee I've ever purchased from a shop has had large grounds at the bottom. The residue this leaves is much finer- like microscopic particles.- Cleanup is obviously more than the K Cup "pull-and-pitch", but it isn't as bad as other reviewers seem to describe it. When you pull the ekobrew out of your Keurig, hold a dishrag underneath and walk it to the trashcan. Knock the grind against the inside of the can, then rinse under the faucet. It takes me about 5 seconds of rinsing to remove all the grinds. Voila, you're done.. certainly not the onerous task described by others.Overall this is a fine product which will give you the flexibility you want with your Keurig machine. It may be messier than a standard K Cup, but IMPO that's the trade-off for saving money and having your own coffee in your mug. Enjoy!
I have been very impressed with the ekobrew Cup as part of my overall strategy for keeping Keurig-brewed coffee affordable. We buy regular K-Cups when they are on sale. For the past two years, I've been making my own K-Cups with the used original K-Cups (an approach that has its problems but is very cost-friendly, fairly quick and easy, and allows for "batch" manufacturing of new cups). The ekobrew is an excellent third option -- with its own strengths and weaknesses. It makes a fine cup of coffee and is quite easy to clean. You have to be careful to "feel" it into position before you close the Keurig lid, and a careless or inexperienced user might damage either the ekobrew or the Keurig's feeder pin. You need the same feel to use my homemade cups, although there the danger is punching a second hole in the cup (because it already has a hole from the first time it was used), and not a danger to the pin. The only serious "problem" with the ekobrew comes when filling it. You have to be very careful not to tip it over -- and if you are holding the bag or can of coffee in one hand, and the measuring spoon in the other -- well, no third hand to hold the ekobrew. And it is a bit unstable becaue the lid puts more weight on one side and the bottom is narrow. In addition, the lid does not open all the way on its own, and you will be reluctant to force it back for fear of breaking it off. You have to hold it away from the cup mouth a bit to get the coffee in. So you have proceed carefully or risk getting grounds all over the surface you're working on. This is not a big deal -- you just have to take your time -- but in the morning, when you're in a hurry, and still a bit groggy-clumsy, it is an issue. On those occasions, I still prefer a fresh K-Cup or one of my pre-filled homemades. Cleaning the ekobrew is easy -- but you will deposit a fair amount of grounds in the sink because the ekobrew has to be vigorously flushed out. Again, not a big deal, but just part of the package. With the price of K-Cups rising steadily, and so many interesting coffees on the market that are not available in regular K-Cup form, the ekobrew is a tool well worth having. Sure, it's a bit pricey -- but it's well made and does a great job. I recommend it for yourself and as a gift for those Keurig-owner friends going broke buying 60+-cent K-Cups.
I held off on buying a K-Cup coffeemaker for quite a few years, as I couldn't justify the costs of buying the individual coffee portions used in the machine. I already had a stash of coffee from Gevalia and Green Mountain, and a perfectly good coffeemaker that brewed into a thermos type carafe.
The day came, after some ten years, that the coffeemaker itself died. I think I accidentally killed it. So never mind all that, I then did need a new coffeemaker, and started looking more seriously at the K-Cup. We're a small family and we didn't drink up all the coffee in our former 8 cup thermos (instead, we just kept it in thermos and warmed up the next day's coffee in the microwave. I can see all the pained expressions, shudders of disgust, and exclamations of abject horror from all the coffee snobs and baristas of the world who are unfortunate enough to be reading this "review". My apologies.).
Of course, I did lots of research on Amazon and other sites, and eventually bought a new-to-me Keurig machine from eBay that was priced about right. Meanwhile, while researching, I discovered the Ekobrew Cup refillable filter online, and that's when I really REALLY started looking more seriously at buying a K-Cup machine (excuse me, a "Keurig" machine.). I realized that would allow me to continue using up my coffee, as well as be able to shoot out hot water for my tea bags (plus, if I clean this up good enough to get the coffee oils out, it works well enough for my loose tea. Here again, I'm sure any Tea Snobs reading this will choke on their bicuspids. Oy.).
I didn't buy the first one, which I should have - I saw it at a Bed Bath & Beyond being clearanced for $8 bucks because "it was dirty" (as if the schmuck bringing it back couldn't be bothered to soak it in the dishwater for awhile and scrub it out well with their ex-boyfriend/girlfriend's toothbrush? Come on folks, it was CLEAN enough!). However, at that point, I didn't yet own a Keurig and didn't know yet if my bid on the machine I now have was actually going to go through (insert long story about seller and his/her issues with getting this thing loaded up to sell and had to abort the first sale and I had to go back and find it and re-bid the second time it was listed. Not sure what that was about?!). So I didn't buy it then. Oh ye of little faith.... the next day, my Keurig bid was accepted. I went back to Bed Bath & Beyond and *gasp* the clearanced Ekobrew Cup was sold out.
So Amazon already knew I had this on my wish list, and I just waited, and finally it was on sale, not quite as cheap as the one at Bed Bath & Beyond but cheap enough. I'm just strange like that.... But...our family is very happy with it. It brews up nice, the grinds stay in the basket, cleans up well (I use baking soda or white vinegar to help deal with the coffee oils/flavors in between uses with my loose tea.)... the spouse can use his favorite coffee. We're happy with it. What can we say?
La verdad el producto es muy bueno pues evita la contaminación por cápsulas desechables, hasta hoy ha sido utilizado mas de 25 veces sin problema alguno....
I took some time to write this review since I wanted to use it extensively before I came to an conclusion. I have had the Ekobrew for 3 months now and I am completely satisfied. It works very well with my Kuerig B70. The product is well built and is easy to use. It took me some time to play around with the right anount of grinds to get the perfect cup of coffee but I eventually got it right. As one can imagine with such a product, the only drawback is cleaning the grinds out. I use the non-business end of a spoon to scrape out the grinds and then just rinse it (i would never use detergent on it). Even though the plastic mesh from which the brewed coffee comes out is surprisingly tough, I am carefull not to scrape too hard against it. All in all a very good produc to have around. Pays ifself after about 40 coffees!
This refillable cup for Keurig brewers works well and gives you the option to use whatever ground coffee you like. I always use mine with the Ekobrew coffee paper filter. I found they worked very well and made a good cup of coffee once you figure out the exact coffee measurement that is right for you. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because over time, the cup has sort of bent at the mesh side from trying to make sure the lid was closed securely. This is probably my fault for squeezing from the top and bottom to close it, but nonetheless it has crushed in over time. I liked that it reduced the amount of plastic being thrown out from the K-cups, especially for those using multiple cups per day.
I was a little concerned about purchasing this item due to the mixed reviews regarding leaks. I have had this for two weeks now and make 4-6 cups a day with it and have had no problems. I do find the coffee a little weaker on the large size cup, but the medium is noticeably stronger. I recommend this product, it has already saved me a lot of money on k-cups. It allows me to keep fancy flavoured k-cups for guests, and lets me drink my own coffee on demand. It's nice not to have to clean the carafe, and it brews quick. I find this filter quite easy to clean, but I find when I'm making multiple cups in quick succession it is a little less convenient. I will likely buy more of these ekobrew filters in the future.
I love the design of this-fits nicely, securely, feels durable and cleans well. However, as I tried my favourite coffee, filling the ekobrew cup at 3/4 full and selected the keurig to pour a cup, it 'brew' the coffee too fast-just started dripping water as I turned it on, and just as I suspected, the coffee was too weak. Mind you, it was also for a med-large cup and the grounds were really meant for a bodum, but that would mean the ekobrew is not as flexible as a commercial k-cup, of which I got really accustomed to I suppose. I will still give it another shot, but for now, I'd rather wait to work on this again, until I start running out of my commercial k-cups and need to find an alternative.
