George Reeves was without any question the best person to have ever played the part of the Man of Steel.
He was a great actor. It was a shame he never got to do other roles in films, after playing superman.
For its time THe Adventures of Superman held a generation in thinking Superman was the best.
And that's why I regard him as the real SUPERMAN!!!!!!

Kind of clumsily told episode, but likable nonetheless. It helps if you're a Joi Lansing fan, as I am. Joi plays an undercover police "sergeant" who pretends to marry Superman in order to trap some bad guys.

Also interesting to see an example of a tv series from the 1950's that was made in color.

Baby boomers will recall this series with fondness. Simple, heroic characters doing amazing things. But for those moderns who can get past the basic, practical special effects, these are under 30 minute morality plays. This Superman is confident, kind and unconflicted. The criminals are comic and do awful things but in 1950's style. The best of these adventures stretch the boundaries of the possible and pose challenges that Superman cannot easily meet with strength and speed alone."The Mysterious Cube" is an excellent example.

Knowing this is it for George Reeves and the Gang, I cherish every frame I watch, of course some are better than others but the show really evolved from season 1 to 6 and season 6 'is what it is'! Everybody was comfortable in their character's skin, the scripts were interesting, some a lot better than others, the bad guys were great, the show gave a good bang for its buck! I watched these shows when I was a kid and now I'm revisiting them as a grown guy and you know what? I've been thrilled! Each season stands on its own and I remember them all as I watch them. For some reason Season 3 seemed a bit weak to me, maybe because that year there was a big transition in the scripts and it took a year to get their footing. I feel sad watching the last year knowing Superman and Perry White were going to leave us shortly in real life. I was thinking that might of what pushed George over the edge, losing his boss. What a shame! He could of kept going if not in this series, in other areas. Losing them both tore the heart out of any future hope!
