I bought this motherboard on December 19,2012 and received it on December 22,2012. I quickly installed it, easy to set up, drivers took about 20 minutes to install everything. When I connected my Logitech Z5500, it didn't have a option for DTS or Dolby Digital, like my old Foxconn Motherboard, Which was one of my main reasons for getting this motherbaord. I contacted Asus about this since RealtekACL892 supports DTS and DD. I never got a reply. I thought I needed to get the Xi-Fi software, since some companies require you to get the license separately, but that didn't work. Also, unlike my old motherboard, I only had Digital under Realtek HD Audio Manger, on my old motherboard, I had Digital and speakers, even if nothing wasn't connected to speakers. I tired using analog instead of my coax, and When i did the surround sound test, it thought my rear speakers were the front speakers, and I didn't hear sound from the others at all. Another thing about sound is when I plugged in a audio cable, it didn't say audio cable plugged in, which its supposed too. I assumed something was wrong but didn't want to rule it out yet, thinking its software, even though I'm using the drivers that came with the motherboard. I also couldn't configure my speaker setup using coax, no matter what it says 2.1 speaker when mine is 5.1. Today, I woke up, turned on my computer and sound didn't work. I re-installed drivers, everything, spent all day on Google, but its the sound-card, as others have the same problem with ASrock.
Right now I'm using a really old creative Sound Blaster Live-24Bit, from a old Dell computer until i can replace this motherboard.
The motherboard itself is a great motherboard when it comes to price, features and ease of use.
I currently have:
-FX6100
-8GB DDR3 1333
-460GTX
-600Watt PSU
-1.5TB Harddrive
-640Gb harddrive
So while I'm happy with almost everything, audio is a big part for me, I looked for good, budget motherboards, with Coax out, and found this.
Personally I would recommend this greatly if you dont use onboard audio, but I cant afford a good dedicated sound card for a while, so i was really sad when the onboard audio had so many problems.
I feel like might just be defective, so I'm going to replace it with the same one, and see how well that goes, if the same thing happens again, I'm going to get a different company.
But until I get a working motherboard, that works fine, im keeping the rating low, as Audio really is a big deal for me, as I game and listen to music, and watch movies.
Update-New motherboard has been good for 2 months now, but i still decided to buy a sound card as i want dts.\
Update-9/29/2013. Motherboard still going really strong, no problems. Works great!
Update-3/03/2016- Motherboard Still working perfectly fine.
Update-2/21/2017- Still working Great, No issues.
