REPEATER WOKED PERFECTLY FOR MY SITUATION and SOLVED a PROBLEM THAT SEEMED UNSOLVABLE

I upgraded from regular Comcast cable to Xfinity. My second (lower level) cable box runs through a switch to two different televisions, one in the family room and the other wall mounted approx. 28 feet away in front of a treadmill. When I switched to the required HDMI cables I had major problems trying to get the signal to the further TV. The picture was covered in white "snow" and would completely vanish after about 20 minutes. I tried other boosters/repeaters/amplifiers and the results were the same or worse (sometimes completely eliminating the signal).

Some "experts" told me that I needed a premium powered splitter ($125 &up), and that nothing else would work. I know nothing about HDMI but decided to try the MONOPRICE Premium Repeater #107700. WOW..............for my situation, this item is AS GOOD AS IT GETS! I plugged it in three feet from the distant TV and the picture is now PERFECT! The adjustable power switch "0-7" is still set at "0". I did not purchase (nor need) any type of auxiliary power source. In my specific situation, THIS ITEM WORKED PERFECTLY AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Fixed all my problems just by plugging it in

Awesome. My projector with 30 feet of HDMI cable was dropping the signal for a second or two every minute or so and had significant white speckling (sparkles?). I plugged this in 2/3 of the way to the projector as I have two cables meeting at a connector there. Despite the manual saying plug in at the display device end, this immediately fixed the image. I did not have to get the external power adaptor and did not have to do any settings change on the dial.

Saved my Home Theater

I needed a fix for my Home theater setup. Had to upgrade the projector and receiver for HDMI, I was using a HTPC with vga cable to my old projector which finally died after all these years. New setup with 30 ft high speed HDMI cable from receiver to new projector, the blue screen about the frequency not correct, if I plug directly into either the bluray player of HTPC it works but going through the receiver it dose not work unless a put the resolution to 720p. I got the HDMI extender this weekend and put it on the cable end at the projector, had to adjust the little pot on the box. I turned it until something worked, it was now set at 3, I was using this for about 15 min and it dropped the picture went to blue screen then came back on, it did this a few times more. I decided to try different settings, the one that worked best for me was set at 2. No drops of the picture with either the bluray or pc. I decided to try the extender on the beginning of the cable, at the receiver end, same setting, picture is great I watched a movie with out any issues, pausing, restarting and stopping and then restarting. I am pretty impressed.

Perfect picture, sound

I have a 36" Sony TV in my garage and I installed a splitter to deliver HDMI to my surround sound receiver and then to my TV in the garage. I have a unit that converts HDMI to conventional digital. I get Dolby sound but the picture kept failing.The cable is 75' and the TV will only show a decent picture for a minute and then it turns blue. I contacted the manufacturer of the converter and they said the HDMI cable was too long. I thought I was sunk. I posted a question on Amazon and someone said I needed a repeater. Eureka! I was initially irritated that this unit was shipped without a power supply. I do think they should be more forthcoming about the fact that they don't ship with a power supply. Anyway, I installed it at the beginning of the cable and it worked.Perfect picture, sound, everything. I wish I had figured this out a year ago. Great product!

Like the other guy said, it does what it is supposed to do. It does get power from the HDMI cable, but the plug in power gives a tiny boost for a long cable run. I have 60 or 70 foot cable run to a TV. The picture had green statically-looking ghosting in all the dark areas of the picture. I attached this to the beginning of the cable run, without the external power, I cranked it up to "7", each number improving the quality of the picture, but it was not perfect...sometimes, in an especially dark scene, there would be the green ghosting. I found an old external power supply, off a discarded printer, that had the same specs this thing required and plugged it in. The extra boost cleared up the signal completely.

Fixed my blue ray display issues

Have a 100' hdmi cable (bluejeanscable.com) and it worked great for Verizon fios cable (1080i). But when I added a blueray player I couldn't get a signal. Purchased the extender. No luck without the power adapter, but with the power supply and setting the extender on the highest output everything works great. Would be a 5star review if monoprice included or at least offered the appropriate power supply for sale. Had to research to find the appropriate amps/pin connection combo, also purchased from amazon.

Won't last long

Ok I bought this a year ago in January. At first it worked fine signal was not dropping and picture was fine for couple of months. Then it started again, it would drop picture ever so often..I bought a 5 v power supply and then it was fine but the picture would droup every hour or so or when ever our Hvac turned on. Now today it stopped working! Had to remove this device all together to get the picture on my screen. The redlight on the repeater device would keep blinking rather than stay on.i would not recommend this since does not seem to last long...model he-ext-eq-mtl(c).pid 7700. I was trying to find warranty info but don't know who to call ???
