Sold by Amazon, but appears to be counterfeit. 1 GB available instead of 64 GB (see photos)

Unfortunately, despite the fact that this was a "Prime"/Sold by Amazon LLC" purchase, it looks like I received a 1 GB counterfeit. I've attached photos of the actual USB drive, along with a screen capture of the size when viewed on the computer. It looks legit from a visual inspection, even has 64 GB engraved on the drive. But you can't copy more than 1 GB on it, and it shows about 1 GB available to use.

Sadly, I can't return this thing, since I waited way too long to use it. I'm well outside the return period, which is totally my fault. But, just beware! Even if it's Prime/Amazon, you may not get exactly what you were looking for. I am very surprised, as this is the first
time a "Sold by Amazon" item has had an issue like this in my experience.

Not for windows 10

Be advised that my packaging did not indicate compatibility with Windows 10, only went to Windows 8, although the Copyright was dated 2017. Also stated it went to Mac OS X v10.7+. I installed it in a Dell Windows 10 desktop.
I mainly bought it for ReadyBoost. Initially I got an error stating it was not ReadyBoost compatible, but after running a check/repair disk command from the properties tabs, (even though no errors were indicated)it was OK to use for Readyboost.
EDIT-I came to find that my DISK was running at 100% in the task manager and it was slowing my computer. The only way to resolve this was to remove the device and then my computer was fine. I installed it in my other Windows 10 computer to use for photo storage only. Again, my disk was running at 99% to 100% and computer was slow until I removed this device. I have revised my rating downward.

The Perfect Drive for Car Audio

Although I'm lucky enough to still have a CD player in my truck, I still use this Cruzer Fit for all my music. At 32 GB, it holds the best of my entire music library. The small size means you can let in your vehicle's USB jack and forget it. It doesn't stick out more than a quarter inch, so you don't have to worry about it getting bumped and breaking. This thing is so small I actually wouldn't recommend it as a work drive simply because it could be lost so easily. But there isn't anything better for car audio systems. If you are considering one of these for use in your vehicle, do not go over 32 GB (there are higher GB models). Car audio systems will not recognize drives larger than 32 GB thanks to a Microsoft patent on exFAT. I think I read somewhere that BMW paid the royalty fee that would allow their systems to go higher than 32 GB, so if you have a newer BMW, you might be able to go higher.

Physically Tiny, Perfect for Cars

I needed a small USB flash drive to use in my car, which has a USB port for playing back music. At least the price offered was decent, because it would have been an otherwise straight up waste of money.

Being used as a USB flash drive to play music from is fine because you're not going to be constantly writing to it. The car reads from the flash drive, and that's about it.

There's a little red light embedded in the plastic that blinks when the drive is being accessed. It's not bright enough to be obnoxious, but it is bright enough to be seen as long as it's not being used in direct sunlight.

The read speeds are mediocre at best but again that's not an issue when you're just using it to play music.

The write speeds are downright atrocious - so mind bendingly slow I thought my computer only recognized it as a USB1.1 device. My initial load of music to fill it up took hours to transfer 6gb of music.

It does score points, however, for being so tiny. It slides into the slot in the car and hides out of sight and out of the way. Plug it into the dash with no fear that your clumsy hamfisted friend will bump into it while getting into your car and snap off and break the USB connector! Inconspicuously insert it into the headunit and don't worry about making a long laser light-show protrusion out of your dash! Discretely load 16gb of music into a small flash drive that blends into your interior and also fits in tight spaces.

Defective item that does not work. Have formatted twice in attempt to get it working. None of my devices are able to read the files saved on this item. And now I see that returns are not allowed, which is rare for Amazon! I think the fact they won't take this back tells you everything you need to know about the quality of this item.

I originally bought a SanDisk Cruzer Fit 32GB flash drive to serve as a back-up drive for my laptop computer. As it turns out, I never got around to backing up my computer’s hard drive, so this flash drive sat unused and unloved for nearly two years…

…Until recently, that is, when I decided to use it in my 2015 Subaru Impreza as a mass storage device for all my MP3 music files. The SanDisk Cruzer Fit flash drive works perfectly in this capacity, supplying my car’s infotainment system with a nearly unending supply of music, all neatly sorted by album. The car stereo does the rest. It plays every song perfectly and displays all album information, except (unfortunately) for album art.

Because the low profile SanDisk Cruzer Fit 32GB flash drive is so small, it takes almost no space in my car’s storage compartment. I can put other items in this space without fear of damaging the flash drive.

The SanDisk Cruzer Fit 32GB flash drive is extremely versatile. From computer backups to music and photo storage, it is an extremely handy device to have around. Highly recommended.

, I use this in the car for music, as Fiestas don't come with CD players any more,!! Figured out how to Rip and transfer a CD into an MP3 and then put the album onto this tiny flash drive, (hard work for a fossil like me, lol).. To date, I've put just over 40 CD's on it, and only used maybe 15% of it's capacity,! I leave it in the USB slot, so the music is always ready to play, and it's so unobtrusive, it's barely noticeable... Me being old (62), I can't believe 40 CD's go on something as big as your thumbnail,, (bring back the 8 track),,, anyway,, the main point of this review is to say, this is a superb little gem, holds tons of very high quality music, doesn't even get warm, and takes up no room, so won't get damaged.. I highly recommend it,,,

Also ich habe mich für den SanDisk Cruzer entschieden weil ich ihn in meinem Auto einsetzen will. Die kompakte Bauweise ist deshalb sehr praktisch. Man kann nicht dagegen stoßen. Ich habe mit dem herausziehen keine Probleme, weder am PC noch im Auto. Soviel dazu. Um was zur Geschwindigkeit zu sagen. Ich habe 6 GB Musik draufgeladen. Das tat mein Computer mit 8.3 MB/pro Sekunde. Im letzten viertel mit 7.8 MB/pro Sekunde. Der gesamte Transfer dauerte exakt 13 Minuten. Dass der Deckel zu straff auf dem USB Stick sitzt kann ich nicht sagen, bei mir saß er sogar relativ locker. Auf jeden Fall nimmt mein Auto den Stick klaglos an.

Ergänzung: Am 11.01.18 gekauft und heute am 08.03.18 hat der Stick die Löffel gestreckt. Auto erkennt ihn nicht mehr. Mir ist in den letzten Tagen beim einsteigen immer schon mal aufgefallen, dass das orange Lämpchen mal kurz blinkt.

Worked flawlessly. I managed to lose it before I managed to break it. It really is as small as it looks in the pics and it has a little loop for attaching it to a keychain or lanyard or whatever (not supplied). I bought it thinking it would be good to put Tails on and I did and it worked fine but I think the Tails website now recommends NOT to use this line of flash drives. I never had any problems with it. Another great use case is if you have a USB port in your car and don’t want a flash drive protruding from your dash or dangerously down by the handbreak. You could also buy it just to hold in your finger tips and marvel at how far we’ve come since the days when this much storage would have taken up a whole room.

[I didn't expect to have any problems. I have several SanDisk drives of one kind or another and they have all been fine.]

Bought for use on my keyring so my essential files would be with me at all times** - I used these lanyards to attach it SODIAL(R) 10pcs White Mobile Cell Phone cords Strap Lariat Lanyard Lobster Clasp but see my review of keyring diameter on that page [2mm keyrings fit but not 3mm ones]. I pull the USB out by its lanyard so I don't have the problem with its small head that other customers have mentioned.

I wanted a physically-small USB so that my keyring would still fit in the little keyfob pocket of my jeans from where it is unlikely to slip out accidentally.

** So, if the worst happened while I was out, I would still have my key files ready to use with a replacement computer straightaway
- Outlook 2007/2016 pst file [calendar, phone book, notes, some of my emails]
- financial records
- insurance records
- personalised Word templates
- I also use it to keep info that I do not want to leave on the computer itself [in case it is stolen or hacked] such as lists of passwords, software product keys, ...

Great for when you want a very small USB drive. I achieved roughly 26MB/s read, 14MB/s write, which is about right if you take into account USB 2.0 limitations (see USB 2.0 on wikipedia).

Unlike others, I have no problems removing this from my laptop. I believe Apple devices tend to make USB a bit snug, so maybe this is the reason for other reviewers having problems.

Don't rely on any USB for permanent storage unless you use sensible precautions and have at least one other back up of important files. USB is designed for file transfer, not backup.

For secure storage delete the Sandisk software and use Veracrypt instead.

I would give this 9/10 if I could because the keyring loop is a bit useless even though I won't ever use it.
