If you have 20 minutes and a yen to discover horrifying venomous secrets of various sea creatures, have a gander at this short little documentary, soothingly narrated by Linda Hunt. Scenes include adorable/horrifying nudibranchs eating anemones alive and stealing their venom polyps for their own use, cute tiny poisonous jellyfish, huge terrifying poisonous jellyfish, and an array of fish that are terrifyingly weird. Basically the whole thing will make you realize that the oceans are like an ALIEN movie.
In this video you can see the beauty and the danger of a few of the venomous marine organisms. It is only 20 minutes long so you can only see a few of the animals. They show what the animal looks like and how it attracts or catches its prey. Many of these animals are flamboyant in their colors and placement of the part that contains the venom. For the length of the Video it show some beautiful shots of these animals in their habitats. It is not an in-depth look at these animals, but it is a good introduction for anyone interested in seeing these animals in their environment as they capture and eat their food. A subject that is fascinating to me.
