Excited at first then disappointed

Pro: Battery is an original Lenovo battery in original sealed box.

Con: Battery would not charge and the laptop immediately indicated there was a problem with the battery. Date stamp indicated that it was manufactured in 2008 (8 years old). I submitted for a refund and quickly found out that postage is not prepaid and cost me another $9.50 to ship it back (yes, this was the cheapest option).

For those that don't know. When a rechargeable battery sits dead (no charge) for a long period of time the battery cells start to go bad and eventually fail.

UPDATE: It has been 5 months since I wrote the origional review and I an now just getting my refund less 5 months on interest in my credit card.

This is the one for a ThinkPad X61

Reading reviews on batteries I wasn't sure this one will fit well in my X61.
It does ! You do not need any spacer & screws, just plug it in. It is a original Lenovo part.

The first three / four times using the new battery, the time running on battery was poor. Only 2 hours something. Now after charging / de-charging the battery ( 100% / 2% ) a couple of times, the time running on battery is about 5 hours. Very good, I am happy.

After spending a small amount of money on a battery that turned out to be complete junk on Ebay, I ponied up for this battery for my very trusty IBM X61 laptop. WOW! This is a *NEW* battery. In a box with a enuine Lenovo seal. Plugged it into the laptop, it's charging with a cycle count of "0" and a Manufacture date of 04/2014 (it's 10/2014). New, fresh, should be good for another few years.

Yes, I would recommend this seller, yes this is the battery you're looking for, yes you should click buy it and pay the money. It's worth it over a warmed over $30 waste of time clone battery.

Hello, I just received the product and it is the original Lenovo 8-cell battery and it fits perfectly in my ThinkPad X61S. However, the description or title of the product is not quiet clear. I thought the battery will come with one spacer and screws but I only got the battery with any spacer or screws??

Lenovo usually ships the battery with spacer and screws and in my case I got my laptop with a 4-Cell battery so I don't have an old 8-Cell battery to get the spacer and screws from.

UPDATE:

I admit, I was fooled when I bought this battery, first it came with missing parts and then after 3 or 4 months of normal use, the battery suddenly died without any reason. My computer won't recognise the battery anymore. I think something went wrong with battery's circuit.

My recommendations is to buy your battery from Lenovo instead of this place.

Reluctactly, I ordered this replacement battery for an aging but very serviceable laptop since I couldn't find something more highly rated. After installation and appropriate charging, this battery showed 100% decreasing with usage to 70%; then it abruptly went to 0% and my PC shut down without adequate time to save work. Obviously a product that hasn't been quality tested and that the seller doesn't care about. To have to pay almost $9 to ship back a piece of c__p product after everything I've bought from Amazon is just the epitome of poor customer service. This vendor doesn't belong on the Amazon website.

Just graduated and said goodbye to my 7-year-old X61. I have been using this battery for last 2 years and it's much better than third party ones. Grab one if you are still in lover with your X60/X61. There is really no juice in laptops nowadays.
