This set is garbage. The mallets are really short. Seems to be made for small children but lists that it's for adults and children. Everything is cheaply made and poor quality. After assembling the mallets that don't fit back into that cheap bag that comes with it. I'd recommend paying a little bit more on another set that is built better and made for adults if you're looking for a decent croquette set. This set is extremely disappointing. I don't believe these good reviews. There must be many fake ones.

These are pretty cheaply made. The wood of the mallet head where you screw the mallet handle on is fragile and it isn't easy to screw the mallet handle on. You have to be very delicate otherwise the wood chips and the mallet becomes unusable. We have to be very careful when playing a game because the mallets are easy to break. It really takes the fun out of the game when you have to find a balance between hitting the ball and not breaking the mallet. Very disappointed....

I purchased this as I wanted Croquet. The quality of the balls is pretty bad (already have cracks and haven't even used yet). Also I'm not sure how well the wood will hold up. Having said that I got these at a price I could not refuse. also the bag is not bad quality. Inside the bag is cardboard box with items in it. If you are careful opening box (I used a knife and cut 3 out of 4 sides, you can maintain shape in the bag. Otherwise, when you remove the cardboard box and place parts in blue bag there will be nothing to hold shape. Overall less than average but again get this if the price is low as the money spent will be worth it (as long as it does not break on first use).

I would rate this set as a 1 the kids say almost a 4 and want to keep it, so 2.5 we will call it. The mallets are atrocious and half are cracked right from the box. The paint is done super poorly and the burned decorative markings are kind of half done. With that said the game is fun and if you are careful the mallets will last a few games. Over all, the average student in junior high shop class can make a much nicer set.

This is not a very sturdy croquet set. Sticks were hard to screw into mallet heads and once screwed in, you don't want to have to unscrew them again. In fact, I considered adding wood glue to make them more secure. That brings up the problem about not being able to store them in the zippered bag sent to store the set in. The mallets will not fit into the bag, so why send a bag too small to fit the entire croquet set into? Don't see the point in this. The balls are also cheap and not sure how long they will hold up. At this price, probably an okay croquet set for kids.

What a joke. The balls are resin, not wood, and one was split at the seam before I even removed the packaging. The mallets are cheap, painted soft wood. Some of the grooves are drawn on or filled in with dark pen to make them look more prominent. Hard to believe its list price was $100. Even the sale price of $35 is an overcharge for this piece of trash.

I purchased and ended up returning this product. It was priced, packaged and shipped well, but I didn’t like the feel or weight of the mallets or balls. I didn’t think the mallets would last one or more seasons of use. I ended up finding a used set on Craigslist that came with a stand and the mallets were made of a stronger wood so they had more weight to them. Plus, the used set was cheaper.

Yes, I read the reviews before I bought this, but I bought it anyway thinking that it can't be too bad. Damn, I was wrong again....First of all, the club heads are way too light weight. They don't even weight as much as the balls. (They should weight about twice what the balls weight). Then, the handles are too short. I'm not tall but I have to bend over too far to be comfortable. I already knew about having to take the clubs apart to fit in the bag so that's on me, but they could have made it a few inches longer. We had a set long time ago that lasted years. I doubt this will last the summer, but I may be surprised.

Bag is very cheaply made and has ripped already. Zipper barely worked to begin with; cheap.

Mallets are OK. Not balanced properly but its not a deluxe set or anything so can't expect the world.

Fences are surprisingly well made and quite durable. Impressed for sure.

Balls are poorly made. Picks up knicks and damages WAY too easy for a croquet ball.

Stakes are OK but paint job is shotty.

My last set lasted ten years (with two winters left outdoors). I highly doubt this set will last that long; but we'll try!

PERFECT for an afternoon in the sun and some drinks.

I read the reviews but decided to purchase it anyway as I thought I would give it a try for my 7-year old twins to have something to play outside. I wasn't expecting the set to last a long time given the price, but after using it only a couple of times, one of the mallets is already chipping, and the head can no longer be attached to the handle, as the screw part broke. There is no way this is solid wood. What a waste of money! Now the set is incomplete and I am not even sure if a replacement part can be purchased. How can this be a bestseller!

Cute set but the sticks don't fit in the bag once assembled. Also, the plastic tips on both ends of the heads fall apart after a game or two. The stick screws in the head but the fit is not very great so it tends to unscrew all the time.
