One of the best seasons of The Amazing Race of all time. The players are interesting and since they've been here once, they get to apply what they learned to make the race more competitive. It is surprising the number of players that came from season 14 which is, IMO, the best season of The Amazing Race. However, be aware that this is one of the seasons where a team gets eliminated simply because all the teams share the answer to a road block without actually completing the task properly. I always hate that.I believe teams should be judged on what they do, not what other teams tell them, so I find it a blight on any season when teams gets to carry on without completing a task as designed.

I've seen every episode of this series and think this is one of the rare reality shows with true value.

The thing I love most about the show are the locations. It is the next best thing to traveling the world myself. Not only do I get to see multiple and varied locales, including many that I will likely never get to travel to myself, but the show producers also do a great job of finding the most unique adventures to complete in each area. I've learned more about world geography and different cultures than I ever learned in any classroom.

It's also interesting to watch the interpersonal dynamics between teammates and between teams. I'd be lying if I didn't admit to finding the conflicts entertaining . . . and the stress of travel and competition does bring it out. But I always root for the teams that are nicest to each other.

And it's rewarding to see how the intensity of the race truly brings teammates closer together by forcing them to work together and rely on one another.

Skipping through streaming options available from Amazon, I stumbled across "The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business". I remember watching the very first "Amazing Race" back when "reality" TV was something of a novelty. (I think that when it premiered, the only other similar shows were "Survivor" and "The Mole"??)

If you're not familiar with this show, think of it as a game show filmed across the globe. 12 teams of 2 people set out on a race around the world, along the way the encounter a variety of challenges, tasks which they must complete in order to get the next clue and advance to the next location. Usually these tasks involve participating in a ritual, or performing a job which a particular country or region is known for. For instance one of the tasks performed in Brazil was taking part in a parade and salsa dancing in front of a judge. This is kind of fun as these tasks can be pretty challenging, but pretty funny as well. Usually, but not always, the last team to complete the tasks and arrive at each leg of the race's pit-stop gets eliminated.

At the heart of the show are the teams though. You find yourself really rooting for certain teams, or really rooting against others. Yes, I'm sure there is some manipulation by the producers to create "heroes" and "villains" by filming people at their best and worst and only showing us glimpses of what they want to portray...but who cares? It makes for entertaining TV, and it's usually pretty exciting as the teams fight to the finish.

I don't recommend you start watching the show with this season though, as the teams consist of previous players, none of whom won. So basically, I now know that if I go back and watch older seasons, and one of these teams pops up, they aren't going to win. I recommend finding earlier or later seasons without previous contestants and give this show a shot.

I love how much the placers appreciate the opportunity to be on the amazing race. The challenges they face and the growth we witness them experience on the show is like nothing else I've seen on television. I also think that the episodes are well edited to generate excitement and anticipation for us viewers. Cinematography well captures the gorgeous landscapes and unique traditions of countries and cities visited by the race.

I enjoy this season quite a bit! It's a returning players season, but most of the teams are memorable and many of them are also likeable as well. There were also some interesting moments in this season with the To Be Continued legs, and several memorable locations and tasks.

I love all seasons of this show. Each episode is a miniature race in itself. Even though I saw this season when it first aired, I'd forgotten who won each leg and who got eliminated and when. I love anticipating who might win and who might lose each leg and, of course, the entire race. I particularly like it when I see an episode where no one knows what place they are in the race, so they don't know if they're competing for first or last.

Season 18 continues the tradition of interesting characters competing in diverse challenges in exotic locales. The suspense was off the charts for season 18 with several well liked teams competing for the win. We also saw at least one team we loved to hate. No spoiler alerts here, you'll have to watch season 18 for yourself. Its one of my favorites yet!

This season had teams from the former seasons competing again. This season had a little more inappropriate for younger audiences (a beach in Brazil, Brazilian waxes) but it also had some serious competition. Not a huge fan of the Goths or the Globetroppers, unfortunately. The asian father/daughter team totally cracked me up. And once again we got to watch Gary and Mallory!
