I was gung-ho about seeing this season after having purchased and absolutely LOVING the first two. That said, I need to make it clear here Season 3 does not live up to the previous 2. Maybe it is just the edge was missing.

Earl season 3 was not by any means terrible, definitely worth seeing once or twice, but it was far from the barrel of laughs that seasons 1 and 2 provided.

If you are an Earl fan and NEED to get the whole collection, definitely buy it, but for most people, I think that renting season 3 will more than suffice.

You can see why they canceled the series when you see Season 3. The good episodes of Seasons 1,2, and 4 don't make up for it. Earl and his list have been forgotten, and a plot that is suitable for one episode gets dragged into 4 episodes or more. The stories all focus on the side characters, and the "humor" is the typical vulgar stuff writers fall back on when they can't think of anything genuinely funny. Season 4 went back to the list, but by then the series was doomed. Don't worry about the developments that occur in this season, like Randy and Catalina getting married, or Joy having a baby, or even Earl's marriage to Billy. All of them are forgotten in Season 4.

Great show that lost it's way for a stretch in this season and then more or less returned to form later. It seems like they resorted to a bit too much raunchy humor in these last two seasons but the heart of the show was still there.

I'd like to see an hour reunion show where they wrap things up. Also, there wasn't enough Pigsquatch.

4 Starts. - Season 3 - My name is Earl - Probably my Least favorite season of the four.
What brought this season down was Michael Rapaport. - I just just an uncomfortable feeling about him.
The others in the cast - shine as acting outside of who they are - but he - just makes me feel like I Really Don't trust him.
And putting Earl in prison - just too limiting for his character. I would like to have seen what season 5 would have brought.
1 & 2 were the Best!! Seems each disc or season has like 2 episodes with 'Commentary' - I wish they ALL had them. - I Love trivia on shows like this - wish this had More. I also wish it had More Bonus features - like interviews with the cast (individually) - and behind the scenes footage. How some effects were done - and some Outtakes (not just deleted scenes).
And Greg Garcia - and his staff. - How was this show Created? - What went into making this show??
What was its demise?? - Something Idiotic had to have happened - to lose a Fantastic show like this!!
And the writers - gotta be some clever people there!! - Just leaves me wanting More - More info - more insights & trivia. Scott M.

I love the character of Earl, along with all the other comically characters in this show. This dvd season 3 is full of comedy to watch. You never know what Earl is going to do next on his list. Each list item is a new adventure that Earl wants to fix in a positive way. :0)

This show is goofy and makes you laugh hard. The characters are all developed and have their quirks.
I am sad that this show did not continue. I actually did not watch it when it was on tv so I picked up all the seasons.
One thing that's nice is you skip all the comercials!

First of all, I can't believe this show didn't get picked up for this season!!!! Tv execs are morons. How could Earl not go for a good 10 seasons? Anyways, if you've never seen My Name Is Earl, it's about Earl (Jason Lee) who has made a list of every bad thing he's ever done, and wants to get himself some good karma by making up for his past. His dimwitted brother Randy (Ethan Suplee) is along for the ride, and these two are one of the greatest comedy/buddy teams ever. This season starts with Earl in jail (ironically for a crime that wasn't his), trying to do good deeds while he's in jail. You'd think after he gets out of jail things would go smoother for him, but no. Do yourself a favor and get season one and start from the beginning, you won't be sorry; although at the season 4 cliff-hanger we're left with no more Earl. Someone needs to fix this.......

This is one great show. How I missed it on tv is beyond me. This is white trailer comedy right down the middle. Reminds me a lot of Jeff Foxworthy, its like the show shows us what he talks about. Well worth a watch.
