Amazing color brightness for brilliant image quality

With today’s high-definition content, you want your movies to appear with show-stopping quality in both darkened home theaters and brighter environments. One brightness measurement (lumens) is not enough. Look for both high color brightness and high white brightness to have a truly impressive image.

High color brightness also enables an even better image for larger screen sizes and for a larger variety of screen materials. Without sufficient color brightness, images may be muddy, soft and lose detail, even in a dark room. If not provided, be sure to ask for a projector’s color brightness specification. Get consistent, true-to-life color with Epson projectors, whether you’re watching movies, playing video games, or watching a family slideshow.

Advanced 3LCD technology

  • Up to three times brighter colors
  • All 3LCD projectors have 3 chips
  • 25% lower power consumption for lower energy costs
  • 20 years of road-tested reliability

I bought this for my family, to use in our basement, on one of the big white walls. I can't say enough how easy it was to set up; it took all of 5 minutes to get it running. I have experience working with multimedia projectors (am a teacher)... it might take first-timers longer.

So far, I have used it with my iPad, iPhone and my daughter's iPod Touch. I have used Netflix and streamed video from Amazon. Later today, I'll connect the Wii, and I am confident that I'll be just as thrilled.

Things I love and/or are better than the barebones projectors that I use at work:
    - charging my iPad/iPhone while using is a huge convenience. I wish I had one of these at school, so I wouldn't have to bother with extra cords/adapters.
    - built in speaker is, as another described, good quality & great volume. I have a set of Altec Lansings with a woofer that I like better, so I have them hooked up for TV/movie-watching. The built-ins would be fine for anything else that I want to do, and are better than what I have at work.
    - Being able to have so much flexibility with image adjustment is FABULOUS. I don't know what the correct term for this is, but you can project on an angle (like NOT from the center of the room, like from the side) and simply slide a lever to adjust the image into a perfect rectangle. That is really great in a home, or a crowded classroom, when one simply can't setup dead center.
    - it is a little heavy for carrying, but what projector of this size/features isn't? The handle is nice and I don't mind that there isn't a carrying case. Personally, I don't like the carrying cases that I have seen in other projectors. They don't provide much protection, and I'd rather just be very careful with the projector, while using its handle.
    - Image quality, for what I spent, is wonderful. I saw a review that mentioned the resolution, and IMO this is great at this price point. I have worked with at least 5 different brands of projectors in this range, and this is the best I've seen.

Things I would be interested in improving:
    - when using the iPod Touch, I couldn't connect my speakers, because of the location of the device's input (iPod input is blocked by the projector's tray). I am considering drilling a hole in the tray that holds it, so I can feed the cord through there... but want to think about that some more.
    - I'd like to see a VGA connector, to use with an older computer that doesn't have an HDMI port.
    - I always wish there were an audio out jack, but there isn't.

I'd buy it again, wish I had one in my classroom, and would recommend to others.

well, not exactly aio since you gotta have an ios product to complete it (sure you can use any tablet or phone but it's not as integrated as an older ios device would be). i gave my daughter all my ios devices so this thing compliments her ipad and ipod. easy to set up and blast her cartoons and girly shows on her wall. resolution is pretty low, but at her age i think she's more impressed by the big TV than anything. the speakers, though low sound range and tinny, are pretty loud. more than enough to fill her room or use outside for "drive in" nights.

I had bought this projector thinking it would work for Power Point or Apple's Keynote presentations, using an iPad or laptop. It didn't. I did figure out, however, that you can convert your presentation screens to separate pictures and show them in sequence as you might photos. You have to stop the automatic sequencing from slide to slide, and work with the iPad to keep the screen from blanking out during presentations to make this work, but once this is done, it works fine.
The menu, such as it is, is useful and dependable, and it projects clearly.
To use a laptop, however, you have to use a modern one, as the attachments to the projector will only handle the most modern of laptop connections.

No problems after two months, we LOVE this. We have it in our loft and project it onto a large wall. Sometimes the kids hook up their computers and project it onto a smaller wall to use as a monitor too - they say for homework but I've seen Minecraft and cartoons...

We have great family movie nights without having to move to a house with a home theater room :)

The sound is great, the picture is good enough that we don't regret not springing for the higher-priced version. I altered an old laptop bag to fit the projector to carry around which has worked great. The biggest obstacle We've had is trying to figure out the least number of devices we need to use it for everything - TV, DVD, old VHS Tapes, Internet... It would be wonderful if we could find a BluRay player with wireless and a VHS player and a TV tuner in it too :)

we use this in place of a TV for multimedia replay at Sunday School and it works well. We are able to load movies onto the ipad or iphone and play them with good volume via the speakers. The only thing missing is a zooming function so the size of the image is pretty much fixed by the distance to the screen.
