This is amazing. It shows you how a place of such destruction can be turned into a place of peace and beauty, and that anything can be accomplished when people work together. Highly recommended.

As a middle school history teacher and a fan of NOVA, the Iceman Murder Mystery is amazing! The documentary is informative and it is designed to keep you guessing how Otzi died. I have one of the orginal PBS docs from '96 or '97 on Otzi and it is very dated and boring.
This will keep you very interested and at the end you'll know more about life 5,300 years ago! By the way, my 6th graders loved this! We had to break it up in 3 different showing and each time they were bummed and were kept 'on the edge of their seat' until the next day!

I have watched the documentary about 6 times now. Great use of forensic techniques and technology to piece together the life of an ancient human who lived before the invention of the wheel. Several discoveries including the ice man's belonging and other evidence sparks a revision of human recorded history. The video offers experiences in forensic anthropology, radiology, bontanists, archeaology, medical pathologist and other scientists anxiously analyzing the body while also attempting to preserve the oldest homo sapien sapien ever discover. Since the time of his discovery, scientist go through great detail to explain the fate of this man. It is a great watch. A glimpse into our ancient past that brings us closer to how knowing more about our existence.

With all the so-called "reality" shows, mindless comedies featuring drugs, booze and gratuitous sex these days, Nova is a refreshing breath of air. Nova educates, fascinates, and makes learning beautiful and yes, fun! So turn it on, tune out what passes for "entertainment", and drop in to Nova for a refreshing change--you'll be glad you (and your kids) did!

This was an incredibly well made and beautiful documentary. It is focused more on the engineering side of the project - it follows the path of the various materials that are going into the new tower, giving you insight into things like the make up of the concrete. You learn about the challenges that the architects face with turning their ideas about what the building should look like into a reality - there are issues with the glass facade that still haven't been resolved.

But at the same time, the program covers not just the engineering in the physical building, but the ideas and inspirations behind the designs of the physical space and the aesthetics of the entire site. It incorporates the human narrative, showing how so many varying ideas of what should be built in the space are finally coalescing into a reality - and there is a sincere dedication to the project and the commemoration of the event in all who are involved, from the construction workers to the designers and planners to the politicians and to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11. Overall, a great documentary that truly conveys the significance of the site.

With all the senseless garbage on TV it is nice to watch a show that really grabs my interest and is very informative.
It is great these are available to watch anytime on Amazon Prime.
So while my wife is watching such epic TV as The Big Bang Theory I can sneak away to my man cave and watch Nova in stunning HD.
Maybe it's just me but I enjoy watching shows that are educational.

Loved this double-header episode, which used findings from the latest and greatest NASA planetary and space probes to give the viewer a virtual tour of Mercury, Venus, Mars, and several of the moons of Jupiter and Saturn. The script and interviews with various scientists provide thought-provoking speculation on the natural of possible extraterrestrial life and the conditions under which it might arise. I found it enthralling viewing.

I find it enjoyable to review many aspects of our world from a scientific perspective and particularly like the presentations to be of interest and understandable by most audiences even without much of any scientific background.
