I was looking for something to help protect my iPhone 4s but not take away from its slim elegant look,not to mention go on top of my invisible shield covering which is on the whole phone. This product looked good and was great in price. I was amazed on it shipment time which was just a little over 24 hours. It look just like picture and was good in guality. This product met my every need and gives my phone the extra protection desired. I truly recommend this item and it's seller. (p.s. they offer a 20% discount if you enter the code carryingsolution).
***Half a year later since purchased and I notice produced has changed aswell as maker!!Probably why all the negative reviews?Original maker which still sells was Griffin not Chivel! I don't like the head jack change which use to be bigger and allowed any headphone in and the button protector doesn't look like a good improvement.Sorry carrying solution but WHAT HAPPENED?

Just received this case (in just a few days after ordering - fast shipping!) and applied it to my iPhone 4. It looks great and fits the phone well. Here is my analysis of this bumper -

PROs:
- Very tight and snug fit. When shaken, my phone does not jostle around.
- The black looks great on my black iPhone. Seriously it's a sharp-looking bumper that keeps the iPhone thin without adding much weight at all.
- The buttons (volume, lock screen, etc.) are in precise spots and you won't have to worry about both volume buttons being pushed when trying to push just one.
- The buttons have a solid, chrome look.
- Rubber lips are completely sealed on the plastic; no splitting.
- No flakiness/plastic paint scraping off as happens with many cheap cases.
- Headphone jack is large enough for my Apple headphones, which is a fix many bumpers still haven't resolved.
- The rubber lips reach over the screen without reaching too far.

CONs:
- On some places where the rubber lips and plastic meet, the plastic lining is raised slightly which can create an uncomfortable feeling on the fingers when gripped a certain way.
- Where the rubber lips reach on the front/back display, as well as where the rubber meets the plastic lining, the rubber is not completely cut, so at some points on the edges the lips have slightly protruding pieces of rubber. It's not too noticeable on my black iPhone, but on a white one it would be much more apparent.
- While the headphone jack is big enough for my Apple headphones, it is still a tight hole. I fear that other brands with more plastic around the audio jack won't fit.
- The buttons (volume, lock, etc.) feel loose, as in after some time if pulled hard enough they could pop out.Read more ›

I have had a couple I phone covers and this is my favorite shape and design so far. That being said there are some things that take away from its nice design. I'll do a list of what I think is a subjective pro and con for this item.
Pros: cover is sleek and does not take away from the design of the iPhone .
Buttons on top and side for volume are fairly sturdy and do not look cheap.
Rubber ledges offer a great grip for texting with one hand or just for a great grasp from your pocket.
Cover is not too thick to add bulk to the iPhone.

Cons:(unfortunately more than pros)
No back cover so if you are picky like me you would have to get the armor shield for it.
Because it grips at the sides it has a tendency to push the screen cover off at those places. (not too much)
The headset jack hole is very small an will only fit select small jacks.
When I received it it was unfortunately bent and cracked at the side where the vibrate switch is located. It's a little bit thinner there so I could see that to be an issue. I bent it back and the crack is not noticeable.
Will only fit the small connectors for chargers, as you may be like me and have multiple iPod chargers kicking around they will not work as thanks to the bottom of this phone for strength they made it thicker in that area. This poses a problem as not only will those chargers not work, but it will not plug into the base of those iPod stereos also- this may be enough to change your mind and come to think of it my mind, all in all the grippy cover is what's keeping this thing on my phone.

I picked this case up after reading that it actually fits the 4S model; the prior "bumper-style" case I ordered was from a different company and required some filing for the mute toggle to fit properly and the volume buttons never lined up quite right. I'm happy to say that this bumper case is a perfect fit for the 4S. The volume buttons feel great and the mute toggle works without any modifications needed.

I wanted the bumper because I don't like the big, bulky cases. What I didn't want was to lose the nice black/silver contrast of the phone or to pay 30 bucks at Apple for their bumper. What a rip off. My wife bought the bumpers from Apple, of course. Me? I bought this product which is just as good quality and offers the clear sides so you don't lose that nice silver look on the sides of the phone. Great product, got it in a week, and for a great price. Do yourself a favor and stuff a stocking. Enjoy...
