Jigsaw Words Volume 2
Purchase options and add-ons
This update to the popular Jigsaw Words gives you 100 new puzzles and each puzzle has 10 clues to solve. The puzzles are organized into 10 themed categories like A Journey Through the Decades and College 101, and you can use the theme to help you solve the clues.
In each puzzle, you start with a set of 10 clues. You also have a set of randomly arranged puzzle pieces with letters on them. Your goal is to solve the clues in the puzzle by arranging the puzzle pieces so that the letters form the word that matches each clue. Start with the easiest clues first. As you use each puzzle piece, it is removed from play, making it easier to find the more difficult matches. You can also shuffle the grid of puzzle pieces at any time for a different perspective.
If you enjoy working with words and patterns, try Jigsaw Words Volume 2 and test your ability to build words today!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2012I LOVE THIS GAME -- I have finished the first one and got the 2nd one, Feb 5 and am half through it -- now I have to wait for another one -- I do not like the other game drop a vowel or whatever but these 2 are amazing games and I have learned so much - have also found out how much I really know about basic language and when I don't know word, or clue is no help I can shuffle through and mix various pieces together to get the word -- I have 2 word searches; word drop (I am not fast enough for and lost interest); and my friend has a new Kindle Fire and I guess she can't get this game - but she wants it so badly.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2011There are different topics, divided into clues. The player guesses the correct answer and puts the answer together from fragments of words on a playing field. There are about 15 clues on each screen, and 10 screens to a general topic.
I don't think I explained very well, but this is one of my favorite kindle games. I like to play this during TV commercials.
I started with the Volume 1 version, just started Volume 2 not too long ago. They are not much different. I would say perhaps 2 is slightly harder, but not much. There are some screens where you have to not only guess the answers, but you must unscramble the words to boot. Much more challenging. Harder to do during commercials.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2016I didn't even know this counted as something I bought. I got this game way back when the first kindle came out. I thought it came with it. I guess it was fun for the time, I didn't have a phone or iPod, just the first kindle. So yeah, I didn't have any high expectations when I played it. It did what I expected it to do.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2012I was just charged for this game 3 months after I downloaded it for "free". I was not warned that I would be charged ahead of time and thus woke up this morning to an email stating I had been charged. The notification said nothing about the amount
I would be charged only that some items have limitations on their cost-free status. A detailed reading of every word under terms of agreement also fails to mention that there will be a future charge.
I have been a devoted Amazon customer since its inception years ago and now quite honestly feel betrayed and mistrustful of anything Amazon advertises for "free". Buyers beware especially since they claim that the Kindle App is free as well as other services and products.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2014Anagrams and their derivatives are not my strongest puzzle types. And thus I may have bruised my forehead in the process of completing this game with those "duh" moments when I finally figure out a particular word. Why?
You're given a set of clues and a bank of word chunks. Your job is to pick the right word chunks that assemble to form a word that relates to the clue. Generally you work your way through the list, making a smaller and smaller pool of chunks, thus reducing possible combinations and making each subsequent clue easier to solve. Complete that list of clues and then move onto the next. Wash rinse and repeat.
Eventually you make your way though all the clue lists and you've completed the game. There is zero replay value for you, although others can play it after you. Some of the lists are easy and intuitive. Others are less so, including words that you may very well need to look up to solve. The best lists have a combination of difficulties, allowing you to use elimination as a means to solve the harder clues. Some lists took me less than a minute or so (touch paperwhite) while others took significantly longer. The forehead slaps came randomly when I was looking at just a few chunks remaining and simply couldn't figure out the obvious combination to create a common word.
That's the beauty of this game. Simply taking a common word and breaking it in uncommon/non-syllabic points for 2 or 3-letter chunks can make some words embarrassingly hard to recognize and reassemble. I like how it made me think when those words were encountered.
On the downside, you didn't have to identify which clue you were answering. So if the clue is 'pachyderm' and you find 'hippopotamus', it will not reject your answer...it simply places it next to the clue it actually answers. I would love to see the game modified so that you had to select the clue you were answering before assembling the chunks used to answer it. For ease of use it should automatically choose the next clue in the list, allowing you to work the list progressively without extra commands required. But it my word doesn't match the selected clue, reject it and require me to identify a different word or a different clue.
There is a hint function. The hint gives you the first chunk of the first unknown word on the list. So, for example, if the third word on the list is a 5-chunk word that relates to the hardest clue on the board, you're stuck with a hint for that word instead of something potentially more useful further down the list of clues. This makes the hint relatively not useful unless you have only a clue or two left, or if that chunk happens to help you on that first unsolved clue.
My biggest gripe is the disparate difficulty across the categories. I would expect a better handle on progressive difficulty than I think was intended within the groupings provided. But at the price, it's hard to complain. This game is identical to Jigsaw Words Volume 1, except for the content. Identical structure. New content.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2011I LOVED the first Jigsaw Words puzzle that I got for my kindle, so I was extremely excited when Volume 2 came out. I was not disappointed. These games are so much fun, and I have even found some of them to be very challenging. I had to ask my husband for help on a few. :) They are short enough that you can just pick it up and play one game for about 5 to 10 minutes (depending on how difficult it may be), but long enough that you get a great time. LOVE these puzzle games and am hoping to see a Volume 3 soon! Highly recommend Jigsaw Words Volumes 1 & 2!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2011This is a fun and challenging game. Some of the clues could be multiple answers, so I found that many times, the first thing that comes to mind is often not what the game is looking for. Also after each puzzle is solved, a "fun fact" is given that applies to the puzzle. Some of the categories are easier than others, so if you need to warm up, I would start with those, and save the harder ones for when you are in the grove. All in all this is a great buy, especially if you like challenging word games.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2012I played this game for a week or so in my spare time. It suddenly occurred to me that I was simply wasting my time when I could have been reading a book or playing a game with some intrigue or challenge. I believe that, at one point, I actually felt my brain shrinking. This game simply consists of putting words together from groups of letters. There is no real strategy, it's just a game that you plow through until the letter groups are gone. It's a time-waster; better to go for a puzzle of some sort.
