As products go, isolation transformers don;t get a lot of press. But this one holds up my whole office from the surges of the A/C coming on. All that's needed.

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

NOT EARTH GROUND ISOLATED
Be warned that the input ground is NOT isolated from the output grounds despite what is suggested in the questions and answers above. Considering 3 people seemed to suggest that it was via 2 questions I am not sure if the manufacturer recently changed the design or not. But the unit I received had the input and output grounds tied together. This is common for isolation transformers and a very easy fix but no good for electronic test benches.I cant comment on the performance or durability yet. I suspect it will be fine.

Never worked. Unfortunately I didn't get around to pulling out my rack to rearrange things til it was too late for a return. I had planned on isolating my dig gear from the hollow state and imagine my surprise after pulling out a rack topped with a large flat screen, rearranging all my power cords and then finding out my new toy was best used to anchor my river floating tube because it isolated everything including the ac.
While this might be a bargain be sure and test it right out of the box. Don't wait like I did and not be able to get it replaced. This is what comes from procrastination.

Arrived with the transformer loose inside it. I opened it up and tightened it back down. Nothing spectacular inside it, definitely not top quality, but this wasn't a high priced item either. Surprisingly, it came with a ground isolation plug adapter which will come in handy. I am not disappointed by this product given the price point.

This has made my workbench a safer place.

This transformer was tested to make sure that the neutral and hot outputs were completely isolated from the neutral and hot inputs as should be the case in an instrumentation/testing isolation transformer. The output ground is connected to the output ground as should be the case in this type of isolation transformer. Connections inside the transformer look pretty solid. My only qualm is that there is no shrink wrap insulation on the exposed tabs.

The unit I received did not work. It was scratched and dented. I shipped it back and purchased another brand.

Arrived not working. Opened it up and noticed the wire from transformer to output plug inside was broken at the plug. Soldered it back on easily enough. This was easier than sending it back. Came with adapter to disconnect ground which was an unexpected bonus.
