Harry’s War tis a novella that tells the story of Air Force Captain Harry Miles Harry had joined the Air Force in order to fly fighter planes, and after working honing his skills has been assigned to fly sorties over Iraq airspace. As the story opens, his squadron is due to rotate back home and he’s anxious to rack up as much combat time in the air as possible. (Flying over enemy space counts as combat time, even if no combat actually occurs.)
On Harry’s last mission, however, there is plenty of combat, as he and his wingman engage Iraqi aircraft. Harry’s wingman is taken out quickly and Harry has to fight for his life.
Returning home to the United States, he faces a fight of a different kind.
Author Ed Benjamin, a retired Air Force Colonel, knows his stuff and knows the minds of pilots. The novella starts a bit slowly with too much information coming all at once… interesting as it may be!... but once the action starts it will have you on the edge of your seat.
