After reading reviews on many, many crockpots I was wary about buying one, but my old one (20+ years) died so I had to make a decision. I have used this one 3 times and I have been pleased. It is a decent size but not too big so I can still fit it in my sink or dishwasher to clean it. It cooks just fine even on high without burning. It did a funny smell the first time I used it but after that it was fine. Outside gets very hot. It will burn you so don’t touch it except by the handles. The cord does not get hot. The pot part is just like my old one. The lid is a thinner less sturdy design that my original and it “clicks” when it cools which makes me worry about the glass breaking. I put the lid on a dish towel and cover it so it cools a little slower. The base has only 3 feet (my old one had 4) so it feels a LOT less stable and if it got moved across the counter or maneuvered the wrong way I definitely think it could tip so I set it exactly where I want it before I start and don’t move it. Overall happy with this product, now I just hope it will last 20 years like my previous one (fingers crossed).

Good, Smaller Crock, but ROUND

I found this to be a nice and simple, albeit smaller that my last one (that finally died after 20 years of awesome use). I chose the black damask pattern because it was perfectly and appropriately old fashioned enough looking to fit in perfect with the rest of my eclectic mix of "old things".
I will say I was disappointed at the onset of getting it out of the box to find it is round and not oval shaped, as it appears in this picture, and that's when one needs to pay better attention to the actual product description, as sometimes pictures can be misleading, as this one was, so my bad for not noticing it says "ROUND Stoneware".
But this was a minor point and not a deal breaker, for the proof is in the cooking of things.
I also particularly like the simplicity of Low, High, and Warm, because with a crockpot and being a 20th century man in a 21st century world, less to go wrong, and not a lot of "features" I will never use.
It does get warm to the touch on the outside, actually quite warm, but then, it IS a Pot, and I always taught my people that in the kitchen, a pot turned On, should be considered HOT, cuz that's what they do...to cook.
So far, made an andouille "Loosiana" cabbage/potato "Leprechaun Melter" stew and a wicked good (according to family and friends) pulled pork, and am quite satisfied with it's performance. Thinking next we'll give a shot at my garbanzo hot pot.
It arrived on schedule, as expected, packaged appropriately and with no damage.

Cooks MUCH slower than any of my other slow cookers

I purchased this slow cooker despite already owning two others. I have a large oval 8 quart Hamilton Beach, and an older model Crock Pot which lacks a warm setting. I'd wanted something in the 4-5 quart size with a warm setting, and I thought this was an attractive design. I also prefer the black crock so as to avoid stains.

After using this 3 times now the main thing I've noticed is that it cooks so much more slowly than what I'm used to using my Hamilton Beach. What would normally cook in 4-5 hours (on high) is now taking 8-9 hours in this new Crock Pot. I see this as neither good nor bad. I suppose if I was in a rush I'd get out the Hamilton Beach, but I actually somewhat like the fact that this cooks more slowly, as if I need to be away for 8+ hours this would be the way to go.

My only slight concern is with food safety. I'd heard that you should always start a slow cooker out on high, even if you wish to cook on low, just to get it up to a safe temperature before turning it back to cook on low. I'd wondered if this slow cooker taking so long to cook might allow the food to remain at unsafe temps for too long. So far though, after several meals in this new Crock Pot, everything has been just fine.

I have used crock pots for years and my Rival finally died. I ordered this one and I love the extra large size and the high temperature cooks a frozen chicken breast to well done and tender in half the time of my older crock pot. Guess it was time for it to quit cooking. I love this one and it is also so pretty with the black and white damask pattern. It also has a vented feature by the way the crock is made, so no more having to spin or lift the lid to let steam escape. I am super happy with this crock pot!

I am a Crock Pot addict. Finding the perfect slow cooker for the right price is a big deal for me. I already had a 7-quart Crock Pot brand slow cooker however I kept finding myself borrowing my grandmother's 5-quart one for two reasons:
1) I needed to cook two things at once (to feed said slow cooker addiction) and
2) My 7-quart crock pot is simply too large for some dishes

I needed a smaller one of my own so I could stop driving my grandmother crazy. I ignored the reviews on this particular one warning me of all the lemons that had been sent out and bit the bullet. 4-5 uses later and I have been very satisfied. I HAVE noticed that it cooks slightly unevenly, though it isn't anything problematic enough to genuinely affect anything. The cute pattern adds a pop of flair to the kitchen and is fun to show off at potlucks. I've been very satisfied with this purchase thus far. I will update a few months down the line on how it has held up however I do not see it becoming a problem. The price is right and the product works well.

I was so pleased to find this Crock Pot model. Like the headline says, I wanted to go back to the basics. I do not like to work with a lot of settings, etc. and this added simplicity to my kitchen. It is easy to clean the insert although I must add that I use liners. It is attractive but most importantly, it gets the job done!

I’m really happy with this 4.5L crockpot. It’s the perfect size for 2 people with leftovers for another one or two meals. Who wants to be cooking every day and in my opinion nothing beats a crockpot for baked beans, stews and pot roast although I never add vegetables at the beginning, as most recipes say to do, because they turn to mush. Over the years I used a 3L one until it’s temperature went wacky, then thought the instPot with the slow cooker would be perfect solution but no I found it doesn’t slow cook very at all. This one is perfect, on low it just reaches a slow simmer resulting in a wonderful aroma and flavour, it does what it’s supposed to do. Plus it looks attractive on the counter and the price is good too.
