These cords are priced just right.

Make sure that you know if you need a MINI-USB (this one) or a MICRO-USB before ordering.

This Mini-USB is used less often today than it's smaller cousin.
Mini-USB fits PS3 controllers and older external peripherals (like my WD external harddrive)

Most Android phones and newer peripherals use the Micro-USB.

If you need mini-USB, look no further!

In my business I do a lot of disk cloning. I use the Apricorn USB 2.0 to IDE/PATA/SATA Hard Drive Adapter for this. These are great little units and they come with a USB cable. But on every one I own the supplied USB cable has failed, getting high error rates. I use these Cable Matters USB cables to replace the ones that came with the Apricorn unit.

They are well made and stand up to lots of plugging/unplugging. So far they have not failed or had any problems. The worst I can say is I've lost one or two of them over time.

Sometimes if I am doing recovery on a failing drive I'll put the drive in my freezer and run the USB and power cables through the seal on the door to my computer. It's amazing how freezing a troubled drive can sometimes help recovering data. The 6ft length makes this a snap compared with shorter USB cables.

Because dependability and performance are everything for me with USB cables, I'm giving this USB 2.0 2-pack 5 stars.

Cable Matters seems to have changed how they manufacture this cable at some point, and you should be aware that the new cable is much fatter than the old version, which is a big problem if, like me, you are trying to tuck it into a tight space -- I happen to be trying to tuck it behind dash trim to install a dashcam. I needed a long USB cord to go from my cigarette lighter in my Volvo V50 to my Dexors X7 Dash Camera, and this cord was the perfect length! I had enough length to run the USB cord under my dash to the passenger side A pillar, then to the center of my windshield to the camera. No ugly exposed cords dangling from the windshield anymore! I like that this cord is slightly thinner than typical USB cords, allowing me to disguise it much easier. And the package includes 2 of these cords, which I consider a double bonus!

While the connections are gold plated, I can't tell how insulated the cords are. I will say I've had issues with RF interference with other lesser USB cords, and these don't seem to have that problem! All in all a very good buy!

I got these cables to replace a few older cables that my cats have chewed up over the years. One cable I use to connect an external hard drive to my media player to watch movies and listen to music. Another cable I use to connect an external hard drive to my Nintendo Wii. The last cable I connected to the back of my computer which I connect various things like external hard drives, cameras and my android tablet. The cables work great for all these duties and I have zero complaints about them. Would definitely recommend to those needing some mini usb cables.

I repeat. Make sure you're buying the right size. I meant to buy a micro cable and bought these by mistake. It will cost me half of the purchase price to return so now I'm stuck with a bunch of cables I don't need.

That said, I bought some Micro cables from the same company and they work like a champ so I'm sure these are probably good too. :)

I have to admit, the heads feel pretty flimsy, but I have never been one to be particularly rough on the USB heads. Pretty slim in diameter, too, more so than really any other Mini USB cable I have, yet for the most part, that is actually a boon - means more flex, and for my PS3 Controller, I rather like that over my 10 dollar Monster Cable. Speaking of which, pricing is another plus. At current pricing, two ten foot cords are basically $4.50 each, and the cheapest single 10 footers were a dollar more without gold-plated heads.

Really only needed the one, but I come to appreciate having a nice, long mini USB cable at hand is a good idea since mini USB is still kicking around for a lot of devices, especially camcorders... and yes, PS3 Controllers. So may as well save a buck or two and get two at once. They actually come independently bagged but also in a larger zip-lock bag, bang on for recycling as cable storage.
