Don't plan on using 4th eyelet.
Deployed forward in the sand box, bought these for number of reasons;(1) because they have 12-1/2 size, I have one foot 1/2 size bigger than the other, addidas run true to size from my experience and I didn't want to waste 10 days waiting for a boot via mail that won't fit(2) I wanted a 6" light boot versus a heavier 8" thick soled boot, getting in and out of armored vehicles all day long with kit sucks when you have those high heeled issue desert boots(3) cool guy boots, they look awesome with unbloused OCP's(4) good for duel use, sometimes roam around in civies and they're comfortable so when taking roatator I don't have to pack two pairs of rugged foot wearCons (upfront)(1) they broke first two minutes out of the box, the 4th lace eyelet is webbing and it was tore/cut on first lace up (picture attached), when pulling lace through for tightening it cut the eyelet in half(2) I asked for return authorization, vendor was great they sent return authorization right away, it received it but wasn't able to return them right away, they sat on SWAhut shelve for 2 months while I was traveling(3) insole is garbagePros(1) when I returned from long push I needed boots, resigned myself to using these, so I just laced them up skipping the 4th eyelet, in fact they feel better skipping that eyelet as it puts too much pressure across the part of your foot that flexes, kind of like the old gen 1 black leather speed lace boots did(2) no break in time, light, packable, good gripping sole for gravel/sandy terrainI have been using them for more than 2 weeks, added a new support insole from affes ($19), feel great on my feet, completed several movements with kit they feel supportive enough in flat to moderate grade treking with kit and weight.Only giving 3 stars because I hate feeling like I got snookerd and buying something that is defective, but I am using them and they're good alternative to using summer weight low cut mountain boots.Wish I hadn't paid $89 for defective boot but it's water over the dam and they feel great. Will update if the soles fall off or if I have any other issues, for now 3 stars cause they are working out.Update August 21, 2019:Boots are still going strong, use them every weekend. No other issues other than the out of the box issue with those fabric eyelets. Changing to 5 stars

(4) good for duel use, sometimes roam around in civies and they're comfortable so when taking roatator I don't have to pack two pairs of rugged foot wear

Cons (upfront)

(1) they broke first two minutes out of the box, the 4th lace eyelet is webbing and it was tore/cut on first lace up (picture attached), when pulling lace through for tightening it cut the eyelet in half

(2) I asked for return authorization, vendor was great they sent return authorization right away, it received it but wasn't able to return them right away, they sat on SWAhut shelve for 2 months while I was traveling

(3) insole is garbage

Pros

(1) when I returned from long push I needed boots, resigned myself to using these, so I just laced them up skipping the 4th eyelet, in fact they feel better skipping that eyelet as it puts too much pressure across the part of your foot that flexes, kind of like the old gen 1 black leather speed lace boots did

The first time I ever bought and wore a pair of these was when I was a Green Beret and was deploying to Firebase Lilley in Shkin, Paktika Province Afghanistan. It is a remote and mountainous terrain and these boots although less expensive than other options, held up exceptionally well. They do not cause any discomfort or blisters when breaking them in and I would say they break in well in about two days or less. It's been years since I had a pair and I recently decided to see if I could still find them for sale and was pleasantly surprised Amazon had them and at a fair price. I could not more highly recommend these boots, they are amazing and if they are and have been good enough for SF work, they will be good enough for just about anything! I recommend them for general wear, construction, hiking, camping and law enforcement too. These boots are about a third or a fourth of the price of many mountaineering boots, however I think these are better than the more expensive options. They are an older version of Addidas GS line of boots, but in my opinion they are the best and only version worth buying. I'm sure the newer ones are great too, but why update something that is perfect already?

overall great feel. 1/2 size up? My issue is the balls of my big toes set down well but angled the big toe up into the ceiling of the boot more so on right than left. Wore them to bed woke up and right big toe was red and swollen from cuticle to end of toenail. Otherwise very stable lightweight tac boot. If I had my custom inner soles clearance would have been worse . I hate digging ingrown toe nails out !

UPDATE: Put shoe stretcher in boot and put two spacers one on the left and one on top of the toe box and left it 48 hrs and no more pressure on my big toe even being on feet all day!

They do run a bit large but otherwise are great. They do slip on wet metal. Know that. I live in Seattle and I don't wear these boots in the rain. BUT! They are really comfortable.

It is not truly waterproof and gets soaked through. Very comfortable if your walking alot but not good for construction. Sometimes side hurts your ankle.

Great Pair of boots. I have had the Black 9.2 versions in the past, but need desert colors for current post. I was concerned with the customer reviews about the color. But apparently Adidas made and adjustment because the boots that arrived are not the yellow looking tan in the picture:) They are the tan B D U color. (See Pics) They fit great and they are the same great traction tread design of the 9.2 version. The height is 7in tall a perfect compromise between 8in or 6in in my experience, cooler but all the support for 8-12hr days of standing and or foot patrols. Looking forward to these for this summer on duty.
