Hole Punch

I have numerous hole punches, and this is the BEST. It locks closed, open, as well as a hole guide that locks, giving you excellent control. Action and grip are both excellent---I do not have strong hands, but strength is not needed with this punch--the action is smooth and strong. The weight of the punch is well balanced and not heavy, yet the punch is sturdy, well made and well engineered.

No hanging chads, but still no good

How difficult is it to make something that will punch a standard 1/4" hole?! I have punches that give me beautiful snowflakes and shamrocks and hearts and anything else I want....I just can't get one to give me a clean circle! I've seen so many You Tube videos where crafters love the Crop-A-Dile hole punchers, so I thought I'd give it a try when my latest standard office-supply-store puncher started churning out hanging chads.

PROS: seems to be built solidly and seems like it will be able to hold up for a long time and would be able to make it through leather.

CONS:
1. the circles that are punched out have to be dug out from the puncher & they are curled up once you dig them out. They also have a film of brownish-grayish grease on them.
2. OK, so if you don't need to retain the circles and only want to get a clean hole, no luck there either. My cardstock was frayed on the edges and they also bore brownish-grayish grease on the edges. Yes, I have a tiny file to get rid of all that, but who wants to file down hundreds of circles. If I wanted to do that, I'd just poke a hole through the cardstock and file. That is why I got a puncher, so that I wouldn't have to file.
3. the punch is really heavy, which is guess why the pro was that it seems really solidly built.

Back it goes.

Works well, except... (see details regarding punch alignment)

At first I had difficulty aligning the punch where I wanted it to be placed. The alignment guides were not much help. To solve this issue, I removed the built in waste bin so that I can clearly see the alignment of the punch. The cartridge can be removed by opening the bin lid, and snapping it off. The rest of the bin can then be easily removed. Though it seems that the lid will break, it snaps off easily and it can effortlessly be snapped back in place.

I could not believe it when I was able to punch through the plastic packaging that you can't even cut through with a knife let alone big scissors! It punched through several sheets..and I do mean SEVERAL...of sticky notes and cardstock (2 layers) at the same time with the greatest of ease! I don't think this one does the setting for eyelets or whatever they're called, but it is the best paper punch EVER! I have arthritic hands, along with other problems in the palm of my right hand, and it did not hurt me in the least to use this! Thank you We R Memory Keepers!

used to punch straw holes in mason jar lids

So easy, an 8 year old can use it

This punch has exceeded my expectations. It is so easy to use, my 8 year old daughter has punched through 4 sheets of 300 gsm card stock without any effort. This punch has handled up to 10 sheets of 300 gsm card stock with about 95% perfection.

I've punched holes in CD spindle covers, plastic ice cream buckets, the black spiral binding thingy, thick cardboard shoe boxes, the lids of Rubbermaid containers. Nothing has been a challenge for this punch.

This item is a winner.
