After a naïve Midwestern girl's big city dreams are dashed her first week in New York, she finds herself living with her worst nightmare in this hilarious, contemporary comedy about a female odd couple who are surrounded by an outrageous cast of character
I had NO CLUE who James Van de Beek was till I saw this show.I then went back (I knew he did the Creek because they mentioned it) so I decided to look at "Dawson's Creek" to get to know him a bit more..that took the Xmas and New Year's week marathon...was over 60 hours long and I got the appreciation of the Creek, in fact feel in love with the characters...now when they made that it was about 20 hour episodes, while apt 23 is 7 half hour episodes per season..that's really cutting it short especially when you go to buy this online and it's still about the same price..but I did purchase it. I live in NYC and mostly many places where they film but besides that they "GET" the "NY EXPERIENCE"..it AIN'T EASY living here and why do we all do it? Everyone has a different answer..but this show gives you just one example what happens in a roommate situation sometimes....BTW: if you have Amazon Digital, "Dawson's Creek", all 6 seasons are FREE on this site
I can totally understand why this show wasn't a commercial success (some people may find some of the humor offensive) but I really wish it had been. Two seasons just wasn't enough! I have really eclectic taste in movies and TV and this quirky sitcom kept me laughing from the beginning of the first episode until the series finale. If you like irreverent, funny shows with a bit of heart, then this is for you!
I really enjoyed this show, However I did not finish it as I became distracted with other thigs at the time. I was able to finish a few though and found it to be funny. there are a buch of one liners that get a good laugh. It seems to be aimed at the early twenty somethings as there is a bit of a high school mentality to it but it was still a decent watch.
I liked Jessica Jones so went looking for more. This is different although equally dry and acidic. It's very funny with few down moments, Krysten Ritter's timing is almost as flawless as Julia Louis-Dreyfuss'. Not as nasty as Shameless but just as amusing.
I am absolutely gutted over this series being cancelled. I think this show is brilliant and campy fun. James Van Der Beek playing himself and mocking himself is hilarious....I have never liked him before this show and this show made me realize how fun he is. Love the whole cast and their interactions with each other. I even love the stalker neighbor girl and the voyeur neighbor guy! I love the whole good girl vs bad girl thing and how the two girls are so different yet "get" each other so much at the same time. Would definitely recommend this to anyone with a darker sense of humor.
This is a wonderful and hilarious new show. It's very edgy and more often than not quite out there. All in a very good way though. I have to say this is a great show and think anybody looking for a hangover esque tv show need look no futher
