These are practically priceless for those sensitive to synthetics like me. Every other set out there has crappy plastic lids that ruin the contents! The silicone on these is very high grade. I don't trust World Kitchen any farther than I can throw them given how they've botched CorningWare's formula into dangerous soda-lime instead of borosilicate (the Visions line is still boro made in France, from what I gather...), and videos online of their supposedly tempered Pyrex glass shattering the way ordinary glass does, but for careful, mild use with leftovers, these are a lot better than any alternative of which I'm aware, and are quite affordable for such an important investment in my health. The fact that their lid design forms a leak-proof seal is a very nice bonus. They are easy to clean, as well, though do be sure to clean the under-side of the lip where food contact occurs.

Pyrex is one of the brands that I like. I have found these glass containers to be of good quality and I am very happy with the purchase.

Crazy expensive compared to the 10-piece sets available locally. I'm not sure if I received older stock, but the lids did not seal that well.

After just one hand wash, the silicone seal on the lid is already all bent out of shape. It was a nuisance to wash and dry because of all the nooks and crannies that just aren't there on the normal lids. Lots of places for food to accumulate, particularly where the glass meets the silicone. I'll be honest, I don't expect the lids to last more than a few months. The old style lids are simpler, cleaner and cheaper.

For those interested: The glass dish is made in the USA, and the lid is made in China.

Two of my lids arrived in good condition. The third is cracked in the corner. I emailed Pyrex for a replacement but didn't hear back. I was going to keep them, but having used them for a few days, I've changed my mind!

Update: After switching back to the old Pyrex dishes and lids, I noticed how with those lids I'd just rip them off the bowl, not worrying about breaking them. They're practically indestructible. With the new lids, you have to hold the dish a certain way, and pull up from the front tab only. With the old lids, you can grab from anywhere on the rim.

Pyrex, how about giving us the old lid, but translucent? Wouldn't that be better than a two-piece glass/silicone combination?

Update: Even the old Pyrex glass bowls are better. I just noticed that my old bowl has a wide lip on the top, and a textured rim on the bottom. What this means is that they are easy to hold. They don't slip out of your hand. The new bowls are smooth all around. Nothing on top, nothing on the bottom. And that makes them difficult to hold on to. Sometimes you don't notice details like this until they are removed!

Update 9/1/2013. After 4 months, one of the bowls has cracked already.

So glad to find these storage containers that weren't plastic, had a glass lid and had an airtight seal. I've loved these dishes....until they started chipping on the edges. I have lost 4 bowls ( I ordered two sets) due to the rim chipping. I've had them one year and they just all started chipping in the last couple of weeks.

These Pyrex containers are great for storing leftovers or for packing a lunch. They don't leak at all, as long as you don't overfill them and get any bits of food stuck in the sealing ring. They can be frozen or microwaved just fine too, although you may want to use hot pads or at least a paper towel when you get it out of the microwave. The containers can get pretty hot.

Burned fingers aside, I think they're so great that I've got a total of three sets of these in various states of usage and storage in my kitchen. I really like that they're made of glass and silicone. There's no BPA to worry about, and no BPA substitutes (like BPS) that have been found to be just as bad.

Oh yeah, and they're dishwasher safe too! I'd have to buy a ton more otherwise, since I use one or two of these every day for taking my lunch to work.

Hooray! Glass lids with silicone seals. Not 100% leak-proof if you invert a bowl of liquid and shake it, but I am happy with "no leak if it gets tipped." (I put these through rigorous testing.) Only the most paranoid among us will object to the use of silicone rims. Lids do not accidentally pop off like some expensive bpa plastic "airlock" containers with silicone seals that failed me when new. Expensive, but far superior to my Pyrex glass containers with all glass lids. I am delighted that I can buy these sizes individually.

Lids can be popped into dishwasher and are easier to store than alternative glass containers with plastic lids that snap down on four sides or have deeply contoured profiles. :)

I hope Pyrex will offer another larger size container to nest with these! And an oblong 9 x 13!

Pyrex glass has always been incredible. I've been purchasing vintage (60's & 70's) pyrex of several years. Why vintage? Pyrex hadn't made storage containers with Glass lids for decades. I had quite a few of the bowls with plastic lids. You are unable to stack them. Plus after a few years the plastic cracks. Well no more. These containers sets are incredible. Better than the vintage, with the silicon AND glass lids. It is a combination of a Tupperware bowl with pyrex glass! You can even burp them! Stackable. Easy to clean. Very well made. Sorry vintage. You have been replaced with an incredible upgrade.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hands down the best way to store food
Reviewed in Canada on November 28, 2018
Glass will never degrade and the silicon seal is virtually perfect after years of use. I bought some several years ago and recently ordered more from Amazon. Glass will not affect the flavour of your food and you can safely microwave food in it. I mainly use these when I make a ridiculous amount of spaghetti sauce/chilli/soup and freeze it in these containers. When I wanna eat it I just microwave it in this dish. Probably going to buy more - they are worth every penny if you make food to freeze.

This new design Pyrex Glass Container Set is only sold by Amazon and you cannot find at the store. The glass lid is great and you can see the food directly when cover with lid as you reheat in the microwave, or even can heat at the oven. The regular Pyrex cannot do this. I love to use it so much and I will buy another set as gift to my friend.

Perfect for lunches and leftovers! After much research I think these containers are ideal. The tops are easy to clean, easy to see food when used to store leftovers. The best part is they are glass and silicone & not plastic!
