We have never been big fans of reality TV but we caught a couple of episodes of this show a couple years ago and never stopped watching. Whats this show about you ask - well, frankly, it had a mildly interesting concept that turned out to be WILDLY fun to watch.

The show centers around storage locker auction in the greater L.A. (and further out) locations. You never know what you're gonna find and the bidders actually don't know for sure what they are bidding on - they can't go in and rummage around. They pop open the doors, give you 5 minutes to look inside and their off! Ya, I know - wow... but wait, there's more! The TV show executives wanted to make it more interesting so they decided to follow a few of the more interesting bidders such as:

Darrel Sheets, better known as The Gambler who is always willing to drop big $$ on the right locker with the right "factor x"
Jarrod Schulz and Brandi Passante - The Young Guns - in Seasons 1 & 2 their inexperience often caused them to over bid and over pay
Dave Hester - The Mogul or as we like to call him The Big Jerk; the villain who continually attempts to cost everyone extra bucks by antagognizing them into making mistakes (Jarrod and Barry have over pay THOUSANDS over the first three seasons alone). David is always trying to "teach" hard lessons thru his aggressive behavior... the Dude we love to hate.
Barry Weiss - The Collector - you can always count on Barry to put a positive spin on just about every situation... you can always count on Barry to drop some serious cash on a locker based purely on his intuition (faulty mainly but hey, I think its a great hobby) - you can also count on him to show up in the most outlandish art cars imaginable.

Since I stopped cable television six months ago, I have been exploring alternative ways of seeing programs I enjoy. Amazon Instant being one way for me to watch the shows I enjoyed. In the case of Storage Wars, it was a show I realized I missed a lot. In light of recent events and accusations that some of the lockers were salted with valuables, this show is still well produced in building some suspense and excitement. The people who are purchasing lockers are very likable and genuine. Some of the items are very unique, and fun to see on television. I am hoping a fourth season comes out.

It didn't stop me from watching 24 episodes in 2 week, but the show definitely jumped the shark in seasons 3. Over produced, fake personal conflicts, Dave going a little mad and drifting from the show, new Dave replacements brought in (sold to the audience with big locker wins). Oh and much faker stuff in the lockers.

The show's simple (dumb) formula in seasons 1&2 worked very well. I could have watched they forever. I'd watch season 3 forever too, but something was lost.

Storage is an addictive show (just like the producers intended). The cast of characters was carefully chosen for their personalities, and they're all fun to watch. It has people you want to root for and against (yes you, Dave Hester). I assume it's very contrived, rehearsed and edited for its entertainment value, but it's a lot of fun to watch.

Love the competition among the bidders. Like seeing what the bidder gets after getting the storage locker. You can't help but like some of the bidders. My facorites are Brandi and Jarrod. My least favorite is Dave--always trying to under mind someone.

I love to watch Storage Wars for the interesting type of people on the show and for the interesting items in the storage lockers they buy. I especially like to learn about the antiques that they find in some of the lockers.

It's a fun show and we were enjoying it on Amazon Prime for no add'l fee. Then out of the blue, once we were hooked on watching it, it dropped off Prime and now we would have to pay add'l fees to continue watching it. Gurr.
