What is an unlocked phone?Freedom An unlocked phone is a device that is not bound to any carrier or plan. It allows you to choose your phone first and your carrier second. Upon selecting a plan, simply insert the carrier's SIM card into the phone and you're ready to go. If you decide you want to change carriers down the road or want to take an international trip, it's as simple as replacing your existing SIM card with a new SIM and activating your new plan.	What are the benefits of an unlocked phone? Freedom: Choose the carrier with the best service or price. If you find a better deal later, you have the ability to change to a different carrier. Travel: Take your phone internationally and use the carrier of your choice. It's as easy as inserting an active SIM card. Selection: Choose the phone with the features you want, whether or not your carrier sells it, and get more service options without a contract.	How do I set up my unlocked phone? The first thing you’ll need is a SIM card for your desired carrier. When activated, the SIM card will let your phone connect to your carrier’s network. If you decide to upgrade to a newer unlocked phone in the future, you can easily remove the SIM card from your old phone and put it in your new phone—just make sure you get the right size of SIM card (nano, micro, or standard) for your phone. If you want to use your phone while traveling internationally, you can easily buy a SIM card for a carrier that operates where you’re traveling. As long as it’s activated, you can just swap SIM cards when you arrive at your destination.

I bought this as a Christmas present for Daddy. It wasn't the kind of iPhone that really excites me personally, but it's a better version of his old work 5C and it was really something he never saw coming. It was so much fun watching him assign ringtones to everyone he cared about that he had @ all money to buy the ringtones for, and when all that happened it was really something special.

The weird thing is, I've got a 4S and I really don't think the iPhone 5 is as polished or as professional, but for someone who needed to know what @ all could be done with the iPhone 5C hardware, it's really a great starting point.

Neither Daddy nor I are the kind of die hards who use a phone enough to buy the latest technology, and I'm even more that way than he is (the 5C really helped with that on his end, while I liked some of the things the 4S and Daddy's old Sony Xperia TL had in common-things the iPhone 5 took away.

But as a Christmas present, it's a keeper for the person I bought it for-so much so that I'll buy it a case and Daddy will buy the iTunes gift card to get more ringtones!

I've owned this for months now and it's never been quite reliable. I should have returned it when I could, but I thought maybe my wi fi was part of the problem....but that's turned out not to be the case. Four other phones in this household, a mix of I phones and androids all pick up the network without an issue. All too often, this phone loses network connection when nobody else's phone does, and our home wi fi network doesn't even show up as an option on this phone, even though the signal is strong. I have to turn the phone off and on again to get it to pick up our network. I've been very frustrated trying to use this phone. Also the battery life has never been great. Never lasts a full day, even from the start.

it couldn't connect to public wi-fi only connected at home when near the router. when on the go it wouldn't use cell data to keep me connected i would have to wait to get home to connect to my wi-fi i was so upset that i threw it against the wall. what a waste of money. "fully functional" not by a long shot. was not properly refurbished. not working like the 5 replaced.

This was a really terrible experience. The phone had a lot of scratches and didn't come with a charger, a cable, or headphones. (Seriously?) This is despite the fact that it said it comes with everything. When you use the camera half of the picture has purple lines all over it. Battery only charges to 70%, then lasts for like an hour. Don't use this cheap company if you want to avoid a headache. Every time you write to them they give you these crappy canned responses that don't answer your question and just make things more frustrating. Amazon should blacklist them.

32GB isn't enough memory but most importantly refurb is as refurb does in this case the battery has started to die. It won't hold a charge for anything in so much that it used 10% doing nothing setting there with the screen off withzero apps running. Unfortunately I've had it a little over a year so warranty is no good. My advice is that when it starts doing strange stuff like battery drains do something then and don't wait thinking its' this or that address it at that time.

Poor quality, should’ve returned and got refund but forgot. It’s hard to tell if you’re getting a good phone from amazon but this purchase was very bad. The power button on top was hard to press. The home button was off center-as if someone took it off and put it back on crooked. The battery would drain from 100 to to 10 within 30 minutes with no usage. I purchased 3 iPhone SE’s from amazon to replace my small child ‘s device and I wish this one would not have been made. Glad I finally found one from another seller that’s fully functional and not a dud like this one purchased.
