If you love old movies, you may enjoy this formulaic adventure movie for it's cast of characters if nothing else. Besides Fernando Lamas in the role of good guy and Ronda Fleming as the damsel in distress, look for Lon Chaney, Brian Keith, and others in their younger years.
Don't count on very realistic headhunters.

This was a very good action/romance oldie with some good acting. Although some some parts in the story weren't completely believable, the Shuars (AKA Jivaros) were in fact a tribe from the Ecuadorian region in the Amazon Jungle. They were mostly known for their shrinking head and cannibalistic traditions.

You have to realize that his movie was released in 1954 so taking that in consideration I thought it was a watchable movie. I'm not saying that I would add this to my movie collection but I did enjoy it. Took me back to my youth for a while :-)

46 Year old male, but I like older movies. They usually have better moral clarity than modern movies, and somehow manage to entertain without curse words. Also, I have liked Rhonda Fleming in every movie I have ever seen her in. Brian Keith is always a strong actor, but I like him better when he plays the good guy.

Jivaro with Fernando Lamas, Rhonda Fleming and a very young Rita Moreno is a wonderful movie. The movie takes place in a region of the Amazon. There are those prospecting gold in an old mine and those who are searching for a hidden cache of gold in a region where the Jivaro headhunters live.

Great adventure movie, minus all the eye candy special effects, seems a little more realistic. Francisco Lamas and Brian Keith even did the fight scene themselves. The kind of movies I grew up watching, good adventure as well as some life lessons.
