Much to the relief of its fans, "CSI: NY" dodged cancellation at the end of the 2011-2012 TV season. It was renewed for a ninth season of 17 episodes, with all principal cast members returning. The show continues to feature compelling crime of the week mysteries, to be solved by a closely knit ensemble cast working with the latest CSI techniques in New York, the City that Never Sleeps.

As always, the show shines a spotlight on individual season regulars from week to week. Among the highlights: Senior Detective Mac Taylor (Gary Sinese) returns to the CSI lab after surviving a nearly fatal gunshot wound at the end of season eight. Mac is crustier than ever, and struggling with the after-effects of his wound, which include troublesome short term memory loss. The affliction affects his relationships within the lab, especially with close friend Jo Danville (Sela Ward). Mac and Jo will have to work it out on a case that takes them to San Francisco. Mac's relationship with girlfriend Christine Whitney will evolve in unexpected ways, and will be the subject of a cross-over episode with CSI in Las Vegas.

Detective Lindsey Monroe (Anna Belknap) works to balance marriage (to Detecter Danny Messer) and motherhood with her job. In one extended story arc, her youth in Montana will reach out to touch her present life in New York, when she is called back to testify in an old and very personal murder case. Detective Don Flack (Eddie Cahill) will work through some longstanding family issues early in the season. He will spend much of the season working with a new partner, an attractive former undercover cop named Lovato, who presents a number of professional and personal challenges. Lab rat Adam (A.J. Buckley) will get a love interest and a startling episode featuring his father.

CSI: NY never disappoints. I love every member of the cast and enjoy watching them solve the crime. I wish NYC really had such a crime lab and cared about each and every victim as the CSI team does in fiction. So many more crimes would be solved and even the poor would get justice.

I have been a HUGE fan of CSI:NY since the first episode. I was extremely happy that it was renewed for a ninth season although for only 17 episodes. I am totally devastated that it was canceled and will be no more except for seasonal DVD packages. I have all of the previous 8 seasons and have the 9th and final season on pre-order! I wish they would have left the show on Wednesday night instead of moving it to Friday night. I think that was a fatal blow for the show. But I am a LOYAL fan and watched it every night it was on. If for some reason I wouldn't be home I would record it on my DVR and/or watch it on demand. Sorry to see the show go and wish all cast members well in all future endeavors!

This, in my humble opinion, is the best New York based television series yet. It is also one of the best Crime tv series. Gary Sinise and Sela Ward are among the best actors. I just only hope they come back for a tenth (decade) season. Please watch.

CSI:NY was probably my favorite of the CSI franchise...absolutely love the whole cast, it was sad to see it end, these are the final episodes of possibly one of the best crime dramas ever on TV...although it was a late cancellation, the crew must have suspected it was to be their last for the final episode doesn't really leave anything hanging...it may not have been the best ending for such a great show, but it was somewhat satisfying...I think the higher powers at CBS were wrong to let it go, but it will always be a lasting good memory for me....top notch actors always giving a wonderful performance, well written and superbly acted...hope to see these awesome actors in new series down the line, they will be sorely missed as an ensemble....A++

I think CSI NY is awesome because of the cast -- they're all great but I absolutely love Jo, Mac & Sid. Additionally, the plots are very well done...definitely keep your interest and realistic.

Enjoy the addition of Sela Ward to the show, she is an interesting character with a diversified background that has helped the show. Mac has always been good and it's nice he now has a love interest.

I choose this rating because the TV show is good. What I like about the TV show is that bright lights, big cases. In this final season of CSI: NY, the rush for justice never ends. Still reeling from a shooting incident that nearly took his life, lead detective Mac Taylor (OSCAR nominee and Emmy winner Gary Sinise) defies the odds to get back on the streets. His second-in-command Det. Jo Danville (Emmy winner Sela Ward) never misses a clue, including warning signs hinting that her boss's mind suffers from the aftermath. But in spite of personal challenges, this team of relentless crime-fighters, Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo), Lindsay (Anna Belknap), Sid (Robert Joy), Adam (A. J. Buckley), Sheldon (Hill Harper) and Flack (Eddie Cahill) crack the most impossible cases. From an arsonist with a personal grudge to a twisted serial killer who patterns his murders after a popular board game, no perpetrator can outrun the clues they leave behind. But when the woman Mac loves is victimized in a complex kidnapping, they'll need the additional assistance of D.B. Russell (Ted Danson) from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Take a closer look at the evidence in all seventeen thrilling episodes collected in this five-disc set. What I dislike about the TV show is that I wanted to see more of it. I would recommend this TV show to other people.
