The aesthetics are not as nice as flat surge protectors, but Belkin is high quality (trust them from previously purchased MagSafe chargers) and my outlet that uses this is hidden so it's not a large issue/worth the cost benefit in my opinion. It works great for its purpose, but just a warning that it’s a bit heavy especially if you’re plugging it into a foreign outlet using an outlet adapter for that foreign country. Also, some hotel outlets, especially if they’re on a lamp, are Not the most stable. The male part on this are on one end, so that’s part of the problem with the weight distribution. But it works fantastic if it stays in the outlet.

We've purchased 6 of these since 2014 from Amazon. We have it in high traffic areas where we need additional outlets. We dont use the usb ports (we use usb-c now) but I like the protected/not grounded status lights. We havent had the need to replace them. But we did buy one, a different brand and it had slight burn marks around the plug areas so we know that it wasnt good quality. So this is why we stick with Belkin.

This unit comes with a long screw that allows you to replace the screw that is currently holding the face plate on your plug outlet. You don't have to remove the old face plate, just remove the old screw and then using the longer screw provided, you can optionally install this in a semi-permanent fashion. It works equally well without using any screws at all. The screw helps to prevent any heavy power bricks from pulling the whole thing away from the wall.

The USB ports have worked exceptionally well and quickly charge up our cell phones (Galaxy SIIx / Nexus 4 / Nexus 5). The white is very nice and it looks good on our walls.

I bought two of these and may have to get more so that we have one near all of our favorite sitting spots. We are a family with lots of gadgets who are always looking for a free USB port to charge things up.
