I almost hate to write review, because I am afraid to jinx it. Have had and used this pillow every single night, since purchase almost 3 months ago. AMAZING! I have probably tried 25 different pillows in last 3 or 4 years and not 1 of them made any difference with my neck. Have bad arthritis issues in certain areas due to car accident 15+ years ago, when my head went through windshield. Was never able to get any medical way to fix it after countless visits to doctors, many of whom were specialist. So, every morning, I was in tears from pain created during night, in the tendons in my neck, becoming so tight I could not even turn my head in any direction, and the headaches caused from from this. I thought this pillow would be like others, but I was wrong. After 2 weeks with no pain, my husband and I just looked at each other, and then the pillow, but said nothing. Now , still no pain in neck at all, ever since 1st night I used it. Really can't believe it. I am a side sleeper, and still find it hard at times, to think a pillow could make that much of a difference....but for me it did.! I definitely recommend this pillow, if you are having neck issues, and a side sleeper.

I'm a longtime latex pillow user and we just recently got some new ones from Malouf. But we ran across these Z-Gel Infused Dough Memory Foam pillows on their website and our curiosity was piqued.

Normally, we don't care for memory foam, but we're very happy with all the pillows, linens and Mattress Protectors we've gotten from Malouf, so we decided to give these pillows a try, and I can see why they call them the 'Doughiest' pillows around.

Ultra-Soft

Memory foam tends to not breathe well, which is what we didn't like about them. But these Malouf pillows add something called Liquid Z-Gel, that seems to make them very comfortable and cool, compared to other memory foam pillows we've tried.

Good Support

The memory foam and gel combo feels comfy and supports my head and neck nicely. It doesn't get squashed, stays nice and fluffy, and it's very springy and retains its shape. I have neck problems, so good support is essential. These pillows help curb the jabbing and searing pains I can sometimes get. I wouldn't say they've cured anything, but they do help.

Nice Air Circulation

These pillows have something called Open Cell Technology, and I'm not exactly sure what that means, but the end result seems to help make this memory foam much more breathable. Usually memory foam is like sleeping on a dense sponge, and I quickly feel suffocated and trapped by it. There's just no airflow with regular memory foam. But somehow, this pillow actually breathes better than regular memory foam. Perhaps it's the addition of the gel that makes the difference.

Great pillow. Is everything it was advertised to be. Only one complaint the smell last longer than a few days. Washed cover first and second day and let pillow air for two days. Still, after a month has slight smell.

A little smaller than king size pillow cases, and a bummer only the middle of the pillow has the gel pad. But it does tend to keep you cool like it claims, it also keeps me in place over night. I used to toss and turn all night, now i hit the pillow and don't move until the morning.

Sleep is important. A very high percentage of our lives is spent sleeping. Quality of sleep is an extremely important factor to overall health. Don't scrimp on your bed, your mattress, your sheets/comforters and most definitely not your pillows.

I have purchased the king size for myself and the queen size for my parents. Have been using them
for a couple weeks.

Pros:

They do not lose their shape, at least not so far. They feel very firm, almost hard, when you first put your head on them, but then after a couple seconds you realize that your whole head has sunk down into the pillow and it's EXTREMELY comfortable. I was asleep faster than you can say "Zzzzzzz". Great for my neck too as it's very supportive evenly distributes the weight of your head. About 30 seconds after you get up, you notice the pillow is back to it's full shape, as if your head had never been on it.

The z-gel works. It is infused throughout the pillow but there is a z-gel "coating" on one side only, and that is where the heat-draw is most effective. This is the side you should put your face on. Even with the velour case the pillow comes with, a waterproof case on top of that, and my pillow case on top of THAT, I can still feel the z-gel gently drawing heat away from my face. I love it. No more overheated face problems ( I can't stand heat when I sleep ). Granted, it's not like having an air conditioner blowing full blast on your face but you can definitely feel the gentle and effective heat draw.

This pillow comes with a very nice, very thin but NOT waterproof velour cover. High quality material.

Cons:

You cannot wash this pillow directly like in a washing machine.Read more ›
