Jack Kruse is brillant at teaching healing at any level. Lovely person and enjoyable to read I believe this diet is extreme alone for me; but I am certainly confident that it is to my benefit to incorporate all that is possible into mine.🫠💜

The information from Dr. Jack Kruse's book and blog has been very helpful in helping me overcome several conditions, without drugs or pills including emotional eating and altered adrenal function. What is amazing to me is how this was done using only whole natural foods (not simply knowing what to eat but when to eat them), avoiding unnatural light at night and embracing the cold.

Before reading his work I was a chronic insomniac going to bed at 3 or 5am nightly. And in the mornings it would take a full 45 minutes for an hour for me to be able to get out of bed, I was exhausted and a mess. Now I am an early bird for the first time in my life. Dr. Kruse's advice for avoiding artificial light at night was life changing. For example, last night I went to bed at 9:40pm EST (Elementary School Time!)and in only 3 minutes I was out of bed and ready to take on the day. No sleeping pills my doctors prescribed me have ever been able to done that.

His Leptin Rx advice to eat 50-70g of protein works very effectively for me when I fall off the wagon and get emotional eating spells. It is like pressing ctrl alt delete for my cravings.

I have to admit I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to some of his cold thermogenesis prescription. I literally just tip-toed into it with my feet into cold ocean water but I have already been seeing tremendous results already. At first the hair on my head stands up and I scream bloody murder, but after only a few seconds of that, once my feet numb to it, it is strangely relaxing and sets the tone for the rest of the day, like a massage would.

This book and Dr. Kruse's enormous blog (there is over 300 pages of content on it in less than two years of being up) will show you how you can access your own inner pharmacy in your brain using simple natural solutions such as the influence of light, circadian biology seafood and cold therapy that your doctor may not tell you know about.

What is very unique about Dr. Kruse and this sets him apart from pretty much all other docs is that is he answers every question on his blog/facebook/twitter. So once you read this book feel free to interact with him or set up an educational consult to help get you to the next level. I have done one consult with him and it helped me quite a bit.

He is certainly controversial and I may not agree with him on some issues, but I can say without hesitation that he is a tremendous resource for health and was instrumental in allowing me take control of my health and reverse many conditions thought to be irreversible.

This is an awesome book. I love how he is able to take heavily scientific reasoning and ‘dumbs’ it down a little (just a little, it still reads like an in-depth academic paper). His conversational tone also helps elevate the dryness of this topic. His supporting forum/website with this book is a different beast entirely. It is "down the rabbit hole" scientific, and very cumbersome/unwieldy to use or explore. The forum/website isn't the reason why I knocked off a star, though. That is solely due to how he notates references in his book. He only uses half of the endnote citation system. While it is not my favorite way to reference, he did it wrong, and it drove me up the wall while reading the book. For proper endnote citation, they need to place a number or symbol at the place of mention (this is called an endnote anchor or endnote character) and it marks where they are paraphrasing or citing a reference in their writings. He DOESN’T USE THEM! He only puts the references at the end of each chapter. It is a terrible way to write an explorative/argumentative book that needs heavy citations for quotations. It nearly ruined the book for me. However, most people are not the ‘grammar police’ and this wouldn’t really bother them, but I am sure they would like to see a little easier where Dr. Kruse uses his references.

In addition. There are NO graphs/diagrams, so if he talks about an absorption process cycle of minerals or molecules you just have to 'imagine' it or look it up online. It definitely would have increased the book size for the amount of them he would have needed, but it would have helped immensely. I agree with a previous review that it needed a large appendix or table of content to help the book.

I also found spelling errors as well, so I agree it wasn't proofed very well.

I still see the validity in most of his points and will be using his methods for my health journey.

I've spent a long time discussing and reading Jack Kruse's work over the last month. This book is a solid first step and then you can join his Patreon to get even more insight. I've gone into Jack's work skeptical, as that's how I am by default, but the science is solid and I've seen improvements in our life.

My wife has rosacea and we are currently working on improving that. There were some obvious causes, completely missed by the dermatologist, that Jack has opened our eyes to. For example, she hasn't has sunlight on her face in about 15 years (wearing make-up). But that realization wouldn't have even surfaced if Jack hadn't taught us about how important light is. Jack literally says "Rosacea bio hack: A lack of UV light and not enough red light."

So let's expand on this. The dermatologist has told us there's no cure, and to just use this steroid cream. My wife has used the cream, and kept it under control, but certain things would lead to flare ups. We're now a few weeks into AM sunlight, along with UV exposure on the body (she's gradually increasing this as her solar callus builds, read Jack's work to understand what a solar callus is, along with the science behind it) and she said to me last night that her skin is starting to look better. We've bought an infrared lamp too, as a supplementary measure too. Her rosacea didn't start to surface until around 10 years into depriving her skin of sunlight, which really shows you how resistant the skin is. But here's something else that's interesting. She wears contact lenses, never glasses, and her retina is never exposed to the sunlight. Does this cause issues? Is this why she has gut issues? Is this affecting POMC? I don't know the answers, I am still learning, but Jack's work has challenged me to think for myself. Jack will tell you what you need to hear, sure, but the best part is that he'll teach you how to go off and research yourself. This has been great for my engineering brain that's desperate to understand all the workings.

Last night we were discussing my wife's skin headache, along with her friends' stories, and she was frustrated that dermatologists don't know this or aren't pushing us to use nature to heal. I told her that the dermatologists would make no money if they told everyone the truth.

If you do not know why you need to be earthed go look it up.

We all need to be earthed. All animals (that includes humans) are designed to be earthed. Connected to the ground conductively, without barriers. Naturally and electronically earthed. Our feet touching the soil.

Electric does not sound natural but we are electrical. We are conductive and live by the use of electrons. They are an essential component of our cells.
Through the history of mankind, we have been in contact with the ground in a way that allows us to receive electrons from the planet. A natural action that takes place in animals and plants all day, everyday. Our bodies expect it.
These electrons are essential to allow our mitochondria to receive replenishment and perform correctly. Mitochondria are the powerhouse, the start of the process of living. Poor function leads to dysfunctional body.

We are the only animal now not in contact with the ground (apart from those we have domesticated or put in some sort of artificial cage, like we have done to ourselves, to live with us and like us.).
Even birds land back on a tree and are again earthed.

We wear rubber soled shoes on plastic, laminate or other artificial flooring. This isolates us from the ground. We are mostly un-earthed.
Even the shoes we wore in the past, when we were not bare foot, were leather. These, once moist, become conductive, allowing us to be replenished with electrons from the Earth. We stood on the natural ground with the sun on our face.

We are evolutionary based, like plants, trees and every other animal. We need our feet in the soil and the sun on our faces.
Natural, as expected. We have not out evolved this.

This removal from the earth has taken place only recently, over the last 50 to 80 years. A blip in the evolutionary timeline. Our bodies have not adapted.

Modern materials and living coincides with all the inflammatory based diseases common amongst modern lifestyles; heart disease, cancer, diabetes and many others.

Earthing at night during your sleep is the easiest way to make up your lack of contact with the ground and for the longest period of your day.

Earth yourself naturally outside in the sunshine as much as possible.
In addition, earthing yourself conducts the unnatural electro magnetic fields in your nearby appliances such as chargers, and electric heaters away from you and lessons the harm from these induced inductive appliances.

All of this information is available in studies that will soon become mainstream and everyday knowledge.
Along with earthing, blue light reduction after sunset, the food production problem, the drug industry issue and other important life changing information is available in this book.

This is an incredible compilation of whats possible when one is willing to question the status quo, experiment and dig deep until they find their own personal truth and one that can also be quantified through science.

I’m slowly piecing a more expansive health and longevity puzzle together and I know I’ll be re-reading this many times to fully absorb its contents.

In this book, Dr. Kruse reconstructs the biochemical and endocrinological foundations of the causes and factors that influence "civilization's diseases". You can agree or not with some of his conclusions, but I think it's very difficult to contradict the bulk of his statements, since they're derived from standard academic research, as well as from his own clinical experience. He has done a great work of synthesizing and reorganizing an impressive amount of information. Thanks, Dr. Kruse!
