I got a surprise in the bag!
First and last time I'm buying this product. I found a piece of yarn in the bag and the flour has a strange smell.

I am trying to go gluten-free, not that I have been diagnosed with anything but see for myself that after eating the conventional carbs , it bothers my tummy. I have used coconut flour and almond flour-both good and then came across chickpea flour! I have used Vedica organics chickpea flour to make 'flour less cheese bread' absolutely amazing taste, I will never go back to regular flour again! Look forward to trying new recipes with this flour. Also use it for face masks. What a versatile, amazing product! Thank you!

Makes excellent farinata or socca or whatever it's called in your neck of the woods. Saw Lydia make this on on her show years ago and thought "I must make that soon". Just got around to purchasing the besan to make it and love it even more than expected. What a delicious and simple recipe, a new favorite. Italian food is genius!

This is my favorite chickpea flour I’ve used so far! The super fine grain is perfect for making pancakes, frittatas and more! This is a great price for organic as well.

It didn't really work to make hummus with this. The flavor was there, but it had a more jelly-type consistency. Maybe I'm using a bad recipe. I hate to give something 4 stars just because it didn't work for my needs, because it is really a good quality flour.

I ordered Vedica Organics' two pound bag of Organic Chana Besan in February of 2017. The date of packing on the label was January 2016, and the bag says it should be used within two years of the packaging date. I was disappointed I received a product that was already more than a year old and therefore more than half way through its shelf life, but wasn't terribly perturbed because I thought I could use it up in time anyway. After opening the package I immediately put the bag straight in the freezer, where I know any type of flour should be stored. I just opened the factory sealed bag today (only two months later), straight out of the freezer, and after sifting through the whole bag found AT LEAST 30 WEEVIL BUGS in the bag. GROSS!! I know technically it's still safe for consumption; presumably all flours have at least weevil eggs in them (it's a fact of life) and eating them doesn't technically do you harm, but in my opinion it's unusable. If you buy this product I suggest sifting through it first to make sure it's not infested. I will certainly not be buying this brand again.

I really like hummus and using chickpeas in salads, so after I saw some recipes using chickpea flour for a variety of items, such as pancakes and other things, I ordered the chickpea flour. I was disappointed in the flavor; it does taste a bit like chickpeas, but it had a somewhat off taste too. I'll keep trying it in other recipes, since I have so much, but at the moment I would not wholeheartedly recommend it to people who don't do a lot of cooking in this type of cuisine. With more experience one would be able to tell how to adjust flavors, etc.

Extremely good and tasty flour. It's fine in texture, thickens fast (like thick cream or yogurt) and gets crispy golden outside when frying. However, Vedica has recently truly jacked up it's price for a mere 2 pounds to $28 that's way too much, and it was already expensive to begin with ($15).
